What is the true size of an airlock?

Some examples from the floor plans in my 2016 Highguard, all apparently standard air locks:
  • Launch(page 96): 3 squares
  • Passenger Shuttle(page 106): almost 4 squares with 2dton extra air lock space
  • Scout/Courier(page 110): about 1 and 1/2 squares
  • Scout Serpent-Class(page 112): 4 squares(no extra air lock space mentioned under Systems)
  • Far Trader Empress Marava-Class(page 116): 3 + 2 squares + 14 squares cargo airlock(listed as 6dton cargo air lock)
  • Close Escort Gazelle-Class(page 126): 3 squares
  • Fleet Courier(page 132): 2 squares
  • Survey Scout(page 140): 4 squares(no extra air lock space mentioned under Systems)
  • System Defence Boat(page 142): 2 and 1/2 squares
So according to floor plans a standard air lock is more likely to be around 2 squares(3m x 1.5m).

Cargo hold costs nothing, except opportunity.

Cargo hatches are free.

All we need to install is a vacuum pump, and two sets of cargo hatches.
