Mongoose
It seems the Games of the Year are Changeling - The Lost :? and the Star
Wars Saga Edition .

Well, for me they are Chaosium's BRP and Mongoose's Traveller. :D

What about Signs & Portents?

Or is Mongoose like Canada in the Olympics?
Naught for 6 days (and lo, upon the 7th day we got 1 of each .... finally...)?

Ach weel... I also agree that MTrav is my game of the year!

Take care

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to complain about how the masses must be dumb to vote for the winners and that Traveller should have won everything ;).

It is like the Oscars and the Emmies. Those who pay the most win the most. How else is it that good Scifi never wins any awards while out grossing anything else that year, while crap that no one wants to see and doesn't last in the theaters are the ones that win. As for me, Star Wars Saga Edition is the worst version ever done for Star Wars. And I still cannot figure how any of the rest even got suggested. Maybe the judges are all French or Chinese.

...wow, that was quick!

Never fails to amaze me how quickly people will be coming up with some cynical declaration about how the most popular things must be clearly crap and that the people that voted for them have no taste...

Lighten up people! There's room for everyone here. The games we like are not necessarily the best ones ever made, the only thing that really matters is that we like them and we're happy liking them.

I dunno, but I'm sure that I picked up Star Wars Saga about May time, last year.

I'm not worried about who wins what award, Star Wars and Changeling both had very good production, and duly note that EnWorld is mainly a d20 site anyway.

Ah, well, those French and Chinese Judges nominated Traveller and
Signs & Portents ...

All roleplayers with an Internet access had a chance to vote, and ob-
viously the majority of the voters prefers what I consider not exactly
my kind of games.

But, as a local saying goes, the cat eats mice, and I do not. :D

Of course he does, a reporter of the Interstellar Inquirer interviewed
him on Mora in 1006, and this reporter is the absolutely trustworthy
guy who made that famous hologram of the Yeti ! 8)

Remember that awards like the Ennies are given to the nominated product that has the most fans who go and vote. Star Wars has a huge fan base, possibly much bigger than Traveller's fan base.

It's like voting for representatives, senators, presidents, Parliament, etc... If you didn't vote, you surrendered your right to complain.

So, how many of the Traveller fans voted even once?

Actually I pointed out how to in an earlier post.

...

You could also go to libraries, Jack-in-the-Boxs, anyplace with free internet and try to vote. (which is legal, the rules are only one vote per IP)

But, I was there working in the WotC booth when they brought their awards in, they were some very happy people.
