Emergency Passenger Capacity

On the other hand, emergency situations are the perfect time to bring up stuff that the baseline game rules gloss over.

I recall one game where the players had an incoming solar flare that they really weren't equipped to survive. But by pointing the ship tail first at the sun they could use the drive section as extra mass shielding to reduce the rads enough that they got through by also suiting up.

Power is unlikely to be a limiting factor. Waste heat should be, but Traveller generally ignores that one.
unless something is broken. then power suddenly can become very limiting indeed.

Nobody wants to have heat dissipation radiators sticking out of their ship in every direction, which is what would happen if you paid attention to waste heat. Better to ignore it than to have stupid looking space ships.

I remember going round HMS Victory as a child, and the guide pointing out the wooden bucket on one of the decks. "And this is the general purpose bucket. It is used for a general purpose."
Once a bucket has been used for "a general purpose," I very much hope that it will no longer be considered suitable for use with the drinking water. Purposes should not be THAT general.

1. Install a poop deck.

2. Or, designate one.

3. Drill a hole in the hull, suction will resolve the issue.

4. Or, just go to the airlock.

5. I mean, there has to be a reason that you get a free one every hundred tonnes.

6. The fuel tanks should be close to empty, by now.

Why is the price of everything in Traveller not connected to SOC? Since We do not have and do not want the granularity in Traveller to have a million different brands of Ramen, why don't we just have some formula or a chart with percentages in the CSC or someplace? The average SOC 8 guy is going to be buying different brands, of the same stuff, than the SOC 2 guy, and the SOC 8 guy's stuff will cost more.

Edit - The Dilettante book covered this for high SOC individuals, but I haven't seen it applied for low SOC individuals.
HG Page 51 gives additional Life Support costs for High and Luxury Staterooms, 3,000 and 5,000. SOC matters if you are travelling in the manner in which you are accustomed.
