In which sourcebook can I find elves, dwarves or other races?

Are you looking for just stats, or setting info or ?

The rulebook gives basic stats for a variety of critters, with Monsters adding a lot more.

Glorantha the 2nd age has glorantha specific info for elves, dwarves, trolls and a handfull of other civilizations

I am looking for elves as player characters. Unfortunately I am not interested in Glorantha.

The Player's Guide to Glorantha has rules for creating PCs for non-human races, but of course all these use the Gloranthan version of each race.

I would hazard a guess that this relates to Gloranthan Elves, in the same way that Gloranthan Dragonewts are covered in the (allegedly) July release, although there's nothing in the upcoming releases to suggest this will appear this month.

There are only Elves and Dwarves as "Monsters". Are these rules balanced and fair? Seems to me that the hip points or skills are unbalanced compared to humans. Is there some kind of ECL like in D&D?

They undoubtedly are unbalanced - RQ never has been "balanced" in that way, relying on the characters roleplaying their races much more. Amongst humans, though, dwarves may feel lost or even be distrusted and might need to regularly return to their halls; elves might even have to hibernate for winter (so the player might need a secondary character).

Of course, you can keep the character going non-stop, like others, at which point you'll find that after a few sets of increases the initial advantages fade out somewhat as experience increases.

No. Each race increases like any other. In a group, character's might tend towards particular roles, but it ends up being fun playing an odd character or even one who tries to break his racial sterotypes...

Yep - this is for Gloranthan elves...

Now back to work sorting out the Dragonewts...
