Earth-Centauri War - Report!

hey where is the thanks for the Narn Regime (mainly me lol).

I captured Gorash turn one (with earthers on my side thanks Andy)

defended Centauri Prime from counter attack turn two.(good game)

victory at Jericho turn three (good game)

ok lost to regain Orion :( (good game, but oh Drakh people, why didn't you follow your masters) at turn four but hang on..............

turn five regained Orion. (good game).

then at the end of turn six won at Beta 3 (good game)

total credits needed for weekend to replenish fleet = six (not bad)

but saying that Ken did better with his Minbari, 6 wins thru out the weekend and Lee saved Earth many times over, so my effort was just a sum of a well made war machine, good job trigger and greg as admirals.

so well done team :D .

Game One Killed 5 gun platfroms, damaged the space station and killed a nova but lost a Primus and Maximus

Game two - killed nothing but time, lost nothing but my interest in the game...................

Game three - Killed 2 hunters, 1 mothership lost Primus, Liati and Elutarian

Game Four - Killed 2 hunters, 1 Fighter carrier and a Shadowcloak, lost a Elutarian

Game five - Helped Kill two Omegas, a Warlock, a Nova, Lost a Liati and Maxiumus

Game six - Killed a Teshlan and a Tigara, lost Primus, Liaiti, Balvarian (a shock), Demos and a Maximus

prob broke about even

I see there was a Drazi player, did he fight any battles, and what was he using? Just wondering if the eight ship limit was doable, and if so how it was approached.

their was indeed a drazi, he was a Mercenary, as the Centauri found out to their detriment when he threw the battle at centauri prime to allow earth to capture it on turn 1! (allegedly!) alas I never faced him, but he had nice blue ships ;-)

But no sinks, and few fighters... I would expect a couple of good turns followed by a slow death... but the games seemed to short for that so maybe a good strategy.

Thank you for the info, just wondering, only seen one Drazi stack do well in a tourney environment so wondered how they faired in second ed. Darn shame they threw the fight, so un-drazi not to go out swinging. Did the force admirals happen to have colored sashes by any chance?

The ship limit kind of screws up Drazi fleets. They are forced to take their high PL ships, which invariably suck, and no init sinks. I would never have played Drazi under these rules.

My Drazi have done very well in 2e. Scouts are no longer needed (all beam and TL weapons), Warbird has taken over from Strikehawk as my ship of choice due to its higher ADs. Claweagles aren't much good but they are great at scaring people, so I take them to draw fire away from Warbirds. Guardhawks are now useful.

Agree with most comments there... though I still like the Strikehawk as the fighter catapult now has a use, and the darn flight usually gets at least one shot in. I find if very funny how the Narn learned everything there was to know about good ship building in the G'Vrahn but the Drazi make no progress at all due to the new tech sharing... The Fireraptor should have been a much better ship and the Nightfalcon should have had Fleet carrier.

Still, thread poaching... not sure on the penalties but always assume a hanging offense if lacking evidence otherwise...

I agree that the firehawk is lacking. obviously the drazi are a bit, um, well not as creative as the narn, but I would have definately liked to see a better ship. The Firehawk is definatly a sub par ship

My problem with the sky serpents is they are so destructive, the explosion from the enemy ship always killed them. In 1e this gave the enemy more VPs than I gained!!! ;)

Firehawk is fine... Fireraptor is the bag of poop ;)

I fully agree. We tried the Firehawk at our gaming club and it performed bad as expected. Even if it has a great manouverability, it seriously lacks in firepower, stayingpower and hightech systems. Our Drazi player said that he would never take the Firehawk in live as long as the ship is that bad.

I knew what i meant! ;-)

I remember the only VP's I gained against your drazi were when my ships blew up, was quite amusing!

All nicely explained in the fluff for the Fireraptor! ;) (not much of a consolation I know!).

Shamless Plug:

Add some shadowtech and you get a very nice War level Drazi ship and it looks very sleek and powerful too - from what Ripple has shown me......must put some images of it up - Nice 8)

I do think the Fireraptor as is has a great name and very little else - it certainly apears to be eating too many pies

In Game 6, you killed a Tinashi and a Tigara (You always get them confused)...
