Drawing Deckplans

Hi,

Found the deckplans of a recently decommissioned Louisiana oil-rig which could be found on all sorts of worlds on and off water!

To answer Simon's query: I'm one of the square counter types, AND I also do deckplans. I've recently started working on plans in Sketchup, so I can see that they work in 3d... and walk-through them.

Regarding the use of space - it really depends on the original intent of the craft's design. In my mind, a Yacht has to have a smallcraft, if only because spoiled nobility wouldn't think of having to use something as ignoble as escape pods.

Cool. There are a lot of nice models available on the Sketchup site for free download. I haven't used it in a while, but it was surprisingly easy to at least do basic shapes.

If we're looking for deckplans, here are some I prepared earlier: :)

Description

And a quote from the description:

From a security point of view, the ship is designed so that the crew can access all areas without going through 'passenger country'. There is a single access point to engineering; there would also be a single access point to the bridge except that when the pinnaces are docked, it is possible to gain access through them and into the bridge area (this is known in the trade as "the deliberate flaw in an otherwise secure design to make the players' life interesting").
