Okay, let me see, where did I stash that plan for Operation Seelöwe... ;)
While you are at it, please remember to ... obtain ... a copy of RQ II Em-
pires for me, it should arrive at the Mongoose warehouse just in time for
your ... well equipped tourists ... to get a copy.

So only 3-6 weeks until the stuff arrived in germany. Okay, let me see, where did I stash that plan for Operation Seelöwe... ;)

I suspect the logistics for that are slightly longer than waiting for it to arrive :) though with the channel tunnel maybe not :)

Well, if the players don't want to retire their PCs, this book will present a good way to continue the game even after they get rich!

Fair point. I give you that good sir.
I will still probably wait it out for books nine and/or ten. But that's just me.

Just arrived :) Loving the new social standing and wealth rules :)

Ok, that means about two to three weeks before Amazon gets it. Then two or three days till I get it. I hope. We'll see.

With the prize money from the captured ships, this is good news. :-)

or of course someone who was rich and or famous and it was taken all away from him/her >:>

Dilettane, isn't all about "rich" it's also about "fame" and it's pitfalls (stalker anyone , trying to be covert with the paperazzi after you).

It also presents a wealth of scenario ideas not just for the rich and famous but for the retinue of people that support them ... "lava rafting" for example if there is not a scenario in that I will eat my hat :)

Or acting as body guards to a famous athlete, his problem he wants a quiet romatic dinner with his girlfriend so he can propose ... breaking out the FGMP will not get the job done, you need something more subtle.

And of course there is always the Buckaroo Banzai option :)

Does the book cover nobles (i.e., herditary dilettanes) in any way?
According to the preview it includes the career Aristocrat (Courtier, Che-
valier, Paramour).

I'm hoping my usual source gets it with next week's batch of new releases. That's most of the careers with books of their own now, isn't it?

Citizens, Scholars and arguably Army, Marines still need to be covered. I know Merc sorta does the last pair... but it has a very "Merc" view rather than a military one IMO

Yeah, as Dreambadger said Citizens and Scholars are pretty much all that's left. I'm not too sure of the necessity for Army/Marines although I suppose after Highguard we do need to complete the trifecta. But then "Spess Mahrines!" just weren't what attracted me to this system in the first place.

In my humble opinion 'Traveller' stresses the military too much already.
Indeed. A bit more information on the science (university careers, insti-
tutions, terraforming, expeditions, gear ...) would be a lot more useful
for me than yet another description of how people can kill each other.
Robots would be more interesting.
And this one would be most welcome, too, since Flynn's Guide to Robots
seems to be lost in limbo.

@LHM: Well, with "space thug" enjoying as much popularity as "space trader" I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. Although I do agree it's tiresome. There are only so many fictional guns, poisons, blades, clubs, heavy assault weapons, and firearms too impractical for our world you can handle before you get bored with it.

Personally, I don't have much use for robots. But I can imagine why some people would want them.
Myself, I would be interested in seeing what they could come up with for "adventuresome" citizens. The Settler/Colonist being expanded is a given, as is some kind of mechanic (perfect for those Kaylee type characters.) I imagine more information on civilian life (establishing colonies, dealing with pirate attacks when living on the fringe of inhabited space, etc...) would also be included.
This assumes that the two books would not somehow be merged into one.
