Difference between old Battlefield Evolution and new?

I bought the old hardbound Battlefield Evolution: Modern Combat and see the new zombies expansion requires Battlefield Evolution. Is it compatible with the old book?

Also, what are the differences between the old and the new?

I'm using the same version you are and it works fine. About the only quirk is that ours (yours and mine) doesn't go over traits so it's that point that I have to wing things.
