Demonic Cabal

My demonic cabal arrived yesterday. I'm just wondering how to put a gang together.

I'm thinking:
Warlock with Spit pistol & sports armour (100)
2 Minor demonic pacts (100)
4 cultists with pad armour & zip gun (160)

but that is only 360 points and it uses all the cultist in the box, including the possesed one.

So at 500 points that is 3 punks as mercenaries.

I think I will be looking to bulk out the number of cultists, maybe with some Necromunda Redemptionists.

Talents - I think Luck of Grud x2 is the obvious choice. To avoid those horrible rolls on the summoning table.

Looking at summoning, the 12-13 result is really bad. It should be a really good one, but it gives control of the entity to the opposing player.

Also what happens on a result of 10-11 if the Grand Warlock rolls lower on the Will roll?
 
Yeah, that summoning table is full of bad results even in the good roll range. Many of the gangs are a bit comic but this one would require a good deal of humour to play I think.
 
I'm kind of ok with the bad results and the cultists having a good chance of making things worse, but that one result that gives control of the entity to the enemy is a bad one. If it was random each turn, that would be better - more fun too.

The big demon figure is great, I love it. I really like these guys and can't wait to play them.
 
Given that Judge Dredd is pretty comedic itself (especially in the early years) I don't see how every gang could be super serious and still reflect the source material.

Some are serious, some are less so - the Cabal and (certainly) the Citi-Def spring to mind.

A force for all humours!
 
We had a great game last night - 1000pts a side (4 players)

My Judge survived Gregs Coven ALL firing their zip guns at him and too them ALL out with a pari fo carefully placed SDtumm gas rounds.

Unfortunately the Citi-def behind him (who I should have activated first duh) was out of viable targets and was forced to blow the Judge away - luckily none of teh rest of the Resistance cell noticed ;)

The little Demon was nasty - as nastyy as Robo-dogs!!!
 
Had anyone had any luck making a semi good list, any good combos with Mercs maybe?

Starting our OG club campaign next week and I am going to use the Cabal..

Any tips for psi powers for the warlock?
Is it worth having any other pacts early doors than the minor ones?
