David Gemmell anyone?

Hi Guys,

Anyone ever create, play in or even ever write up any of David Gemmell's awesome settings? I am fairly certain that the Drenai setting would lend itself to Legend ...

My list of inspirational works for new Legend players has David Gemmel near the top.

But a sourcebook about Druss would have to be called Legend of Legend. Isn't that kind of like dividing by zero? :D

Seriously though, if Mongoose can't renew the RPG licence for Conan with Paradox, snapping up the licence for David Gemmel's works would be an awesome choice.

Without David Gemmell there is no George R.R. Martin.

He's awesome.

I can see how scenarios mimicking situations from his books would be pretty great.

I haven't run or designed any myself though...

I ran a 3 week game of repentant Dark Templars, conmen nobles, exiled Sathuli blade masters and the drunken former Engineering Major of the Dragon, during Evil Emperor Ceskas reign, they fought Joinings (and discovered one was the nobles arrested mother), saved the Sathuli people from extermination by the Dark Templars, undertook 'Grand Theft Dros Purdol', destroyed the Machines of the Ancients which created the Emperors legions of Joinings and prepared the setting for the Skeln Rebellion.

It was a number if years ago, before MRQ even so I used HeroQuest to run it. I thought the King Beyond the Gate period was quite interesting if you set it pre-Tanakas return.

This one I a must. Set alongside a possible Conan license and the Eternal Champion line, it would make Legend the go-to game for Sword n' Sorcery adventures. :)

Hmmm...we haven't heard yet whether Mongoose has managed to secure the Conan RPG rights again from Paradox. Mongoose has had a decent track record with Conan and I would love to see them release some of their old material for Legend.
