Dark Matter scyfy series

Good series pilot.
Looking forward to the second episode.
So far it follows the graphic novel almost verbatim.
I won't give any major spoilers as to what happens in the next episode, but expect lots of great action.

Only caught a quarter of an hour of the episode, notably I have read the graphic novel so really hoping to catch the full episode later tonight!

Have this image where the girl is talking to the First Wave guy and thinking if someone else was present they would be gradually backing out the door feeling bad for leaving the First Wave guy alone with the girl as he was searching for some paracetemol or some aspirin...

So did they bother checking out the rooms for personal effects?

Odd wouldn't there be something like personal effects in those lockers at least, enough to state which belonged to which other than specific sized clothes...?

If it was me I'd be naming that android Andrea, but then naming stuff is something I do, well except for weapons of course...

So who was the ship sending a distress call to?

Just had an odd thought.

What if they wake up and manage to repair their ship reaching the nearest inhabited settlement.
Upon arrival discover they were the backup crew intended to act as security for a high value prisoner they had aboard.

Of course there's nothing on the prisoner, but according to the information they manage to recover there should be one less crew member if everyone left aboard was part of the backup crew and the only odd person out is the mechanic whose lost their memories too!

Thing is someone is after them and indications are they want the cargo being carried by their ship and if it is the mechanic then what happened to the original crew if as all evidence points to they were all in stasis when everything went to hell?

Was thinking of letting them create their own characters reveal they woke up with no idea what happened and let them wander, figure things out repair the ship and then as they're about to reach safety reveal that detail.
And by that I mean they're all Player Characters even the apparent extra

So how would you feel about that kind of game?

Android is the proper term in English, as there is no neuter gender; Futurama makes fun of this with Fembots. Someone could use gynoid, but it's loquacious.

There was an Alternity Setting called Dark Matter, it was set in today's world using the Alternity rules set, it was similar in feel to D20 Modern"s Shadowchasers. Basically it entertains the notion that all sorts of weird things exist, UFOs are real etc.

Just watched the 4th episode and there's something very interesting revealed which might interest you regarding this series!

Person who pointed me towards this apparently still catching up on the other episodes so be careful of spoilers!

Seriously there's more to the Raza and its crew than we realised!

Seems pretty good so far. I like the actors and the story.

The opening titles look like computer graphics from 1993. I dunno why they didn't just go with something simpler.

But hey, if the low budget helps it stay on the air, I'm okay with that.

Was wondering who a certain new adversary spoke to after being delayed since the Raza's backers may have been behind their predicament if not just that ship opening fire on them in episode 1!

So far I have been watching: Dark Matter, Defiance, Killjoys, Humans, Falling Skies, and Mr Robot; sci-fi tv has just exploded for some reason.

Mr Robot is the more interesting one, but not as good game fodder as the others; Dark Matter and Killjoys are right out of the box adventure material.

I'd add Defiance to that.

I'm halfway through Falling Skies season four, and they changed the goalposts to some kind of mystical galactic war agenda, not that I was impressed with the first three seasons which overly focussed on a single family dramatics. It was very Heinleinian, not the Starship Trooper type.

Defiance and Falling Skies, more planetary romance, while Dark Matter, and Killjoys, 'have ship and wander around and do stuff'; that's Traveller.

I don't think scifi on TV exploded, I think it's recovering. But that's live action; in animated form it will always be there.

Also, I suspect Star Wars expectations play into it.

Did anyone catch the latest episode?

edit: why does the BBCode spoiler tag not work? Sorry guys.

It's Death Station!
They even included a rat, though it wasn't affected by the "agent".
They weren't researching "combat drugs", but rather anagathics, but really, does that detail matter? The "infected" became monstrously strong, and we even got the scene where one of them was eating a human limb.

I should have expected as much, given that Stargate: Atlantis had so much "Annik Nova" in it.
