Dancing Dryad Contact?

Triggy

Mongoose
I ordered some ships from Dancing Dryad over a month ago now (and payment cleared immediately) and following repeated inquiry e-mails to them, there is still no sign of any models, refund or even any contact from them.

Does anyone have a phone number for them so that I can claim my refund? It would be appreciated.

I didn't believe some of the problems reported by others as my previous experiences with Dancing Dryad have been good, but now I shall now make my online/mail order purchases from ID Gaming/Wargames Workshop who are two reliable companies that support the game well.

Month? Try late may/early june...

Grumble grumble. Needless to say I would be interested in hearing something from them.

Still can't figure what happened. Service was good very long but late may it went haywire.

sheesh, try march 2006.. ahem. . .

theres problems getting hold of stock from distributors or even direct from mongoose as i know the guy who runs hobbybox has had to do lots of refunds due to being unable to get hold of B5 minis.
its got so bad he has even disable link to ACTA minis on his site for time being.

I appreciate that vendors may have difficulties getting stock in but not being able to fill an order placed in March 2006 is quite frankly ridiculous. I think Trig has highlighted a bigger problem with the lack of any sort of corespondence, courtesy or acknowledgement from Dancing Dryad.

I see that Matt Thomasson, the fella who runs Dryad, is still acredited as an Assistant Editor of Signs and Portents (the chap works as a free lance journo); perhaps one of the good people who put the magazine together can confirm whether he has fallen under a bus or whether he is still alive and just defrauding a substantial number of gamers.

just to clarify, march 2006 was not an order with any vendor, it's my long awaited mothership saga!!
vendor wise, I keep hearing that distributors have problems, but apart from new ships (trolli, G'Vrahn, KaBin'Tak, ID's distributor seems to have no problem getting ships sent out) I feel a bit sorry for hobbybox being so close to Mongoose towers and still unable to get mini's in!

True though that doesn't apply in my order as they supposedly(from last mail I got them) HAD all the items ready to be sent.

And after that...Silence.

Problem isn't even the slow delivery times. It's the complete lack of responses. Repeated attempts to get in contact with them have all been met with...Silence.

If there's some trouble with posting the package why can't they atleast tell so in email?

Ah well. 84£ down the drain. Could have been worse :?

I use Leisure Games <http://www.leisuregames.com/> who are excellent. They deliver normally within two days and only bill you for what they send. Anything on back order normally arrives within a week or so. :)

I'd suggest a written letter, sent recorded delivery demanding items, or refund within 28 days or you go to small claims court. Should make them act, if they don't, get all legal on their ass!

I have to say, customer service in a lot of places these days is shocking, of 13 vendors i mailed two weeks ago (not about acta) not one got back to me, and i have a potential £450 order, with probable continued purchase. My LGS seems to be having great dificulty with a supplier they deal with. it seems the Customer is no longer always right, the customer is, in fact, well worth ignoring!!

Legal act from Finland to UK for 84£...Would be rather drastic. Especially as there's added complication in the form I had to resort to payment. Basicly: Unless they choose to testify there's no damn PROOF of the payment. Or rather proof connecting payment to me. They want to avoid legal problems, they can claim to never been paid for them...

What is also suprising is that DD used to be excelent in customer service(and were willing to give me non-normal payment method which was only way I could pay them). I have quite a few orders from there which were delivered fast and effectively. Why sudden change?

h, didn;t realise you were in finland

I now have an urge to sing monty pythons songs :-)

I take it nobody read this thread...

And as I said in that thread, the more warnings that there are regarding disreputable traders then the lower the risk of other members of the gaming community getting stung. This is one of the more useful functions that forums can serve.

Yeah. Though last years september-this year june I lived in England studying which is how I came in contact with DD. Wanted to buy models, couldn't find any store that didn't essentially require credit card, DD provided means which ensured I got tons of SST and ACTA stuff bought. All fine except for the very last order which is now missing(plus one ship from second last order).

Last I heard is they were ready to be sent "early next week"(this at late of week so I presumed weekend was delaying) but after that silence. Since they were ready to be sent I dare to presume money has been with them(actually at that point would have been there for about month already...).

Just so illogical. Nothing in this makes sense. For example deliberate fraud isn't really logical since if they had planned to do that surely they would have done that for the twice as expensive second last order when there was no quarantee I would order again(and I had mentioned at that time this is likely going to be last order for a while).

I hate illogical things. Gives me headache.

I know the poor chap from Hobby Box is frustrated with getting his supplies to fullfill orders. I have given him some alternatives to ship if he can.

It is a shame that distributors cannot get the stock to sell.

he cannot even get them direct from mongoose half the time now as even they dont have stock.
problem is companies (like mongoose) are taking money for orders they dont have stock for, now i believe amazon got in a little bit of trouble for this, but they can afford it, can mongoose if it ever crops up? some serious legal issues could come into play here.

a friend of mine who is a lawer, was looking at the site while i was online, he said its illegal to take money for a product thats not available, but i think we know that but want the product to turn up, doing our small part to help mongoose, who i must admit sometimes seem to be having a lot of problems,
hopefully not going down like my other favorite game confrontation by rakham

yeah bad news about rackham, kinda serves them right for what they decided to do, but still not nice to see a game company struggle.
