CSC: "Track" Weapon Trait

Several weapons (TAC Launcher, Aerospace Defense Laser, Orbital Defense Cannon, maybe others) have the "Track" trait, but I am not seeing it listed in the core rulebook p.75 or the CSC p. 7, where weapon traits are listed.
What does this do??

Maybe that means it comes with a Smart Tracker (CSC pg 146) included? Or maybe Track was changed to Smart and these didn't get updated and they mean to have the trait Smart? Not saying that I know this, more of guesses on my part.

The TAC Launcher has both the Smart and Track traits. Smart represents "intelligent or semi-intelligent rounds that are able to guide themselves onto a target", but the Aerospace Defense Laser has the Track trait and is a laser - it doesn't have a round that can be intelligent or semi-intelligent.

All three do have something in common - they are meant to target flying targets (either atmospheric or orbital). Maybe it has something to do with that.

Well I did say they were two guesses.

I am sure one of the guys who know will be by to share what it really is.

Side Note: Early Playtest did have a track in the trait list.

As -Daniel- said, there was a track trait in the playtest. It allowed the weapon to ignore speed modifiers:

Track: Through the use of guided control surfaces or high- precision targeting, this weapon has been designed to attack fast-moving targets such as aircraft. It ignores all penalties for Fast Moving targets (see Traveller Core Rulebook, page XX).

no idea why it was removed though. To be honest, I didn't even realize it was gone until I saw this thread :)

That would explain why the air defence laser got it - it may not be smart, but it is a speed-of-light weapon, and its targetting systems should be calibrated for engaging fast-moving targets,

Maybe it was a mistake and was dropped in error? :(
I'd put my money on this.

You know the "Evasive Action" paragraph on p. 132 of the Second Edition Core Rulebook? The one that goes

Holy Writ said:
Evasive Action: The driver may declare he is taking evasive
action when his turn arrives. He makes a skill check (the
skill being determined by the type of vehicle and don't
forget to apply the vehicles Agility!) and the Effect acts as
a DM- to all attacks against the vehicle or its passengers.
The Effect also acts as a DM- to any attacks made from
the vehicle too, as the sudden movement will make aimed
attacks difficult. This lasts until the driver’s next action.

If the weapon has the Track option, ignore that DM-. If both you and your opponent have weapons with the Track trait, you both might as well just be driving along in a dead straight line at human walking speed.
