Two it is then. I think I like pewte bette, but which will serve better in your oppinion? I plan on mounting them on a primus and an octurion.

i think resign is better, while it is not so heavy and you can easier mod it, if you want. otherwise....the metal cast is more stabil. an offer...you take one resign and one pewter. i mean this is the best option.

it is primary designed for the Valerius and the Octurion, it looks an bit oversized for the primus but i works. here are some pics that you can see how it looks...

OK, I trust in your judgement. 1 of each version.

I need to drill new holes in the mass driver, right? Easier with Resin I suppose...

ok. i contact you again when i am ready. yes and no...there are an hole in the mass-driver for the flight stand. but i can not give you the guarantee that it fits with the standard flight stands from MGP.

Ok...back to the Quasar.

First, many thanks to all fans who have buyed the ship. I try to finish off the last remaining orders this weekend and the follow week. i hope all who have received their ordered quasar´s are satisfied with it and had no problems with the assembling.

and now i want to select the best stats for the ships....
there are many stats now in this treat...thanks to the people who have post it. but wish is the best??? i have no time to play a few test games with some of the quasar stats, currently.

have seen...a lot of players like the stats from "Goldritter"

Just wanted to let you know I received mine in the mail yesterday. Looks good. Will probably work on assembly this weekend and over christmas.

With respect to messers Trentadue, Prelude to Arms and Urobach.

My guess at stats...The HPCs, Q Lasers and missles are from the EFNI site's description of the ship, everything else is an attempt at WYSIWYG based on the model itself.

Class/PL...Quasar/Raid
Speed...8
Turns...1/45
Hull...6
Damage...30/6
Crew...40/8
IS...2266
Craft...None
Troops...2
Special...Jump Engine, Interceptors 3, AntiFighter 2

Weapons

Heavy Particle Cannon...2,B,20...Beam, TD
Adv. Missile Racks...4,F,30...Super AP, Precice, SL (ignore SL unless ship is crippled)
Medium Pulse Cannon...8,F,12...TL
Medium Pulse Cannon...4,P,12...TL
Medium Pulse Cannon...4,S,12...TL
Railguns...4,T,15...AP,DD
Q Lasers...4,F,15...Mini Beam, SL
Q Lasers...2,P,15...Mini Beam, SL
Q Lasers...2,S,15...Mini Beam, SL

Nomad, too many weapons for raid PL. Med. pulse cannons left/front/right, railguns all round, missiles up front, mini-beams left/front/right and a TD boresight? Too much. At the very least bin the boresight.

@ Nomad, its really tough to fit it all in at RAID level. What you are trying to do would be more easily achived at BATTLE level. But, as the man who did the model says, the Crusade list needs more RAID options and he is right.

Locarno had put up a suggestion earlier in the thread which moved away from the EFNI back ground which I prefer for the RAID option. I shamlessly toned his concept down a little and have used it a few times with everyone seeming to agree that it was not overpowered.....

I have ordered 4 so would definately like to see some stats that everyone can agree on.

Edit; spelling, meh

Received mine today. I gotta admit they're a bit too small for my taste. As it is I'll have them play gunships rather than dreadnoughts

The mass drivers are great. The resin one needs to be straightened 1st, but the metal one is already mounted on my Octurion. Simply glorious. I just wish I could paint like Court Jester

Danke schoen, Herr Urobach!

nice to hear...
i know...the quasar is an little bit small. but its looks better in comparsion to the Warlock and the other crusade EA ships.
the original nova is to big in scale. you see this when you place it next to an Omega. and i don´t like this...

i thank you for your interest on my models.
regards.

Yeah, I agree that the Nova is too big.. But I thought the Quasar was supposed to be bigger than the Warlock. In the EFNI site it was said to be over 100 million tons..

Anyway, keep them coming.. G'kar! TLT Vorchan! (If you ever want to poll what you should do next, those are my votes  )

OK. an fazit.

the last remaining orders are shipped out. the treshhold of 50 pices is not reached, currently.
the mould is still intact and i can receive a few orders in the future if there people who still want an ship. but note, i don´t accept questions about the Quasar at this month. thanks.

All in all...the Quasar was an success and i thank all people again who have buyed the ship and support with it next projects from me.

regards,
Alex

Sorry for the bit of thread Necromancy, but an idea to the Quasar's stats:

Quasar Dreadnought [RAID]
Speed: 8
Turns: 1x45
Damage: 26/6
Crew: 32/8
Traits: JE, AF2, IN2
Weapons:
Forward:
Heavy Pulse Cannon - 12 Inch 6 AD TL
Advanced Railgun - 20 Inch 4 AD AP, DD

Port/Starboard:
Heavy Pulse Cannon - 12 Inch 8 AD TL
Railgun - 15 Inch 4 AD AP, DD

Aft:
Heavy Pulse Cannon - 12 Inch 4 AD TL

I'd really rather have just two 4 AD 20 inch railguns that are turreted, but they can only shoot in one side arc each, both shooting in forward, but not to rear... but the rules don't really allow that, so I made a comprimise.

nice idea....but the problem with the weapons is:

to many for raid lv. this is the problem with this dreadnought. it is the next generation of an Nova (raid Lv) but this means, also...more and better weapons. and if you reduce the weapons...its not "Dreadnought-like" in the end. really tricky to find the optimal stats.....

Not necessarily...

The ship has less firepower than other, comparable ships such as the various raid-level Hyperion hulls, several Narn hulls such as the Var'nic, Centauri hulls such as the Centurion, or the Altarian and its different variants.

In exchange, its more survivable with a higher hull and interceptors, but pays for it by having less damage. Comparable hull 6 Raid level ships with better firepower and damage, but no interceptors, follow in the vein of the Altarian and its variants, the Shruunka, the Nova Dreadnought from the Early Years... and even, arguably, the Nova Dreadnought in the Third Age.

I like the above one, personally Id maybe drop the rail gun range to 15" for a few extra pulse AD. I have four of the ships and have found the following stats to be acceptable for play:

PL: Raid
Speed: 7
Turns: 1/45
Hull: 5
Damage Points: 40/9
Crew: 44/10
Craft: 1 Thunderbolt Flight
Traits: Interceptors 2, Anti Fighter 1, Jump Engine, Flight Computer, Lumbering
Troops: 1

Heavy Pulse Cannons F 12” 16 Twin Linked
Heavy Pulse Cannons P 12” 10 Twin Linked
Heavy Pulse Cannons S 12” 10 Twin Linked
Medium Pulse Cannons A 10” 4 Twin Linked

If I played larger games I would have made it Battle level and given it rail guns. As it is (comparted to the standard Nova) it gains firepower to the front and looses it to the sides then swaps out its fighter complement for some extra damage, antifighter and flight computer.
