Connections between the two?

OK, but what I said also holds true to old HeartBreaker 28mm metal Warzone minis, and the later 28mm plastic minis for that game (just don't ask me who is producing them, as I got my Huzzars second-hand).
And the difference between powerarmoured and normal human are imo ok in SST.

Although I did have no opportunity to compare with BF minis.

I used to own lots of Warzone figs (which I got rid of when HB went bust). Granted, I'm working from memory here, but warzone minis are the same heroic scale size than say, GWs IG figs. So no, they are not the same size as BF:evo...

And that's the whole point here. I have had the opportunity to hold the actual BF:evo figs in my hands.

They are noticeably smaller than GWs (or Warzone) figs. Not just in height, but the whole propotions. Weapons are way smaller than their "heroic" cousins (i.e. they look realistic). The heads are smaller, arms are thinner. everything in them is propotionally smaller. I can't stand having two this far different scales on the same gaming board.
If it doesn't bother you, then good for you. No problems then.
