Character Creator Spreadsheet 2.0

PhilHibbs

Mongoose
Google Docs version - you will need your own Google Docs account, and use "File>Make a Copy" in order to use this.

Now does Cultures and Professions! Details of culture and profession choices are now on separate tabs. All basic RQ2 cultures and professions are covered, and are selectable from a dropdown list.

Read the pop-up comments! Important ones are: if you detail a skill choice by renaming the Skill column, do so on the Main tab, and the change will be reflected in the Cultures and Professions tabs. Check that the number of skills chosen and the sum total of the skill bonuses match the target values at the top.

Mine does that and includes Deus Vult stuff. It was patterned after Phil Hibbs program. PM me if you want a copy and have ideas to improve it.

Version 2.0a
Oops, fixed a major problem with the profession and culture skill lookups caused by inserting rows. Don't insert rows in those tabs! The formulas are very fragile.

Hey there!

I love your work on this! I'm having a problem with the Cultural Backgrounds, though. They don't seem to tabulate for me. Everything else is great, though. What a time saver!

Best,

What do you mean, "tabulate"?

Hey there,

Sorry for being unclear. When I add a cultural background using the pull-down menu located at the top half of the excel page, I fail to have the appropriate values for cultural skills appear in the section below. I simply get nothing. Example: I choose "Civilized" from the menu, but no total for "Civilized" skills appear below.

This is different from when I choose a profession. The sorceror skills appear just fine.

Best,

Eletarmion

Version 2.2 now has columns to enter and calculate the effects of characteristic enhancements e.g. the sorcery Enhance spells, or Common Magic Strength, Vigour, Coordination etc.

Also, a couple of corrections to the professions tab, some skills were missing - please check carefully that you are getting all the skills for your chosen profession as there are probably others missing. Remember that you need to fill in the blue choice cells in the Professions tab.

This is great. I'm using it to quickly generate NPCs. There are a couple of base skill calcs missing, teaching and grimoire/manipulate, but that's not much of an issue. Very nice that it does the profession/culture.

Well done.

It would be nice to have a section for Hero Points. Also, a drop-down for advanced characters (seasoned, veteran, etc) that sets the free skill points/HP. But really, I'm just being completist now.

Fixed, thanks.

I've highlighted the Free Skill Points in blue to indicate that it can be overwritten with the value required.
