True this. both fleets are stout. The Khatrik takes FOREVER to kill, and you have to respect it when it has an "on" turn, Missiles online. The Rohric turns frighteningly quickly. Wahant is a solid Battle hull. The Torpedo Thorun rocks, and is cheap.

Armageddon-level hull? Nice idea, but not particularly canon. A solid Skirmish-level CVL (6 flights, no fleet carrier, a modicum of guns?). Perhaps. A Raid-level pure bombardment ship? Makes sense. The most important thing, though, is to tone that Jashakar Tae down.

And I'm a Dilgar player.

It seems to be received wisdom that the Demos is too powerful.
For example:

"Oh, I forgot, the Demos is the most broken Skirmish ship out there and should be banned from play! Yes the 2 Centauri players in our campaign have a ton of the them and the really blow. 10 AD Double Damage Twin Linked and 6 AD SAP, Precise every other turn, on a Skirmish level ship, that is Agile and 2/90's! I cringe when they start shooting. The Narn don;t have anything close at Skirmish, much less anybody else."
(actually it's 2/45, but you get the drift).

Personally I don't see any reason why it's Ion cannon should any more powerful than that of the Vorchan - it is, after all, a Vorchan variant.

Secondly in game play the Interceptor is seen as a step too far.
But there is an event in one of the shows where a Demos destoys an incoming missile.
Could I suggest that this could be covered by making the Intercaptor a refit upgrade available in the campaign, and remove it at base level from the Demos? That would then square the circle.

I think the 2 changes above would bring the Demos down to about the same power as the Vorchan, and reduce the decibel level below the pain threshold when I put one on the gaming table.

Good idea, just like the G'Quan's F arc beam is a refit.

Can my Hyperion have inteceptors that block beams as a refit too?

no the narn just have a skirmish ship with a 2AD DD beam and a TD beam on top of that plus carries a fighter.
I admit that the demos should only have the same AD as the vorchan but really some people complain too much.

I'm not complaining about the Ka'Toc, it's a fine ship. but generally, unless I stack up on Sho'Kovs, my Ka'Tocs invariably end up as init sinks meaning that their boresighted beam either never gets to target anything, or that I'm forced to target something I don't really want to - given they only have a 1/45 turning capability, that's often very undesirable.

Comparing a Ka'Toc to a Vorchan, I'd say it's pretty much a wash. Compared to the Demos however, there's simply no competition.

Regards,

Dave
