Central Supply Catalogue 2023 vs 2016?

OK, I'm running a Traveller game every so often and the Travellers will be buying stuff once they get back into Imperial space.

Am I right in thinking that the 2023 update adds pocket computers and even open source software compared to the 2016 CSC?

Basically, I am trying to work out if it is worth buying the CSC 2023 update.

Yes, correct. CSC23 adds mainframe, mid-sized, portable and specialised computers to the collection. While the item descriptors are different, the 'characteristic' trade-off of TL vs Processing Power vs Cost remain the prevalent golden rule.

Yes, and that too. Pg 72 has a two/three paragraph description of optional open source software and a list of some possible limitations that a referee can impose on their use.
