Even restricting yourself to 2259 and earlier, the Centauri still have the tools to do the job. Whilst you may have up 60" to cover, the maximum range weapon you are facing is 30" so you have time to set out your stall before the firefight begins.
For this scenario, the Dargan is a good choice as it is going to have stealth 5+ at range. In order to use the heavy laser on the G'Quan your opponent will almost certainly need to use the e-mines on the Dag'Kar(s) to reduce this back down to 4+, and you still have a 50/50 chance that they won't break stealth. In the meantime, some Elutarians can make short work of those Dag'Kars as they are so easy to hit with SAP weapons. You think the Elutarian is vulnerable! Try being a Dag'Kar!
Shield those Elutarians with some Maximus as escorts.
You can probably whittle his init sinks down without loss yourself and once you take the boresights out of the game (TTT permitting of course!), the game will be yours.
