Castle Brass

Mongoose
Any news about this Hawkmoon supplement?
It was announced, the (beautiful) cover was unveiled and then... it disappeared!

I believe its in layout, and there may be internal art underway still (there are a lot of maps and diagrams).

The Hawkmoon schedule is a bit disturbing for fans like me...

Supplements have the mysterious tendancy to disappear from the schedule in order to come back later and then are delayed before not being released!
:-(

Examples?
Castle brass reappeared this mounth but Secrets of TE, expected in march is now planned for april. At the same time, Hawkmoon Technical Guide... disappeared! Its VERY disturbing!

I can appreciate your impatience and frustration, but knowing the workload the editorial team are under (who tackle both book production and S&P), delays are bound to happen. Bear in mind, also, the switch we've had to make to US printing - its all had an impact on the schedules.

The books are written and will appear. The Ichthus of Life I can't comment on, because its not written by a member of the (current) Mongoose writing staff, so it could be that part 4 hasn't been submitted yet, or requires some work to get it ready.

Castle Brass, I hope, will reward your patience. Knowing Gar's talents, I'm sure 'Secrets of the TM' will certainly do so.

Have given an answer on the Icthus of Life question on the S&P forum. I cannot always get straight back as the very nature of my job...editing...dictates that I need quiet away from the interuptions of the internet sometimes :D

I am disappointed that the Ichthus of Life was not in issue 55. Still its not so bad a problem as my group have just finished Hunters of Granbretan and are headed for the Kamarg and Part 1 of this adventure.
It is likely that it will take roughly 5 sessions for my PC's to get to the end of part three so that should take me up to the middle of May. Here's hoping that it makes issue 56. :)

On the subject of Castle Brass, is there any chance of a preview for it and for Secrets of Tragic Europe? Also, any idea of when they will be available at FLGS in the UK?

I've only just received the proofs for CB and will be checking them through tomorrow. Once checks are done, just some art to drop in, and then its off the printers.

Loz: you seem to be the author of Castle Brass.
Have you seen ans used some of the french stuff and ideas previously published in the french supplement "La Kamarg" ?

Hi Sabbak,

The answers are:

Yes, I had a copy but long, long ago (and I've no idea where my copy of La Kamarg went)

and

No. I went back to the books, then did a lot of reading about the Camargue, and then let my imagination run riot. I haven't used any of the Oriflam material at all.

For a french-speaking fan of the Hawkmoon RpG it's both a bit disappointing and... EXCITING a lot, to hear that!

I can't wait to read this new vision of Castle Brass and it's surroundings! :D

Anyway, thanks for the answer.

Still no word on an actual release for Secrets of TE. How much more suffering must we Hawkmoon fans bear?
Glad to hear that Castle Brass is nearly ready for the printers. Hopefully that means that we may see it sometime in May.
I really wish that Mongoose would stop taunting us long suffering customers by showing things for a release in a certain month when realistically its not going to be released until probably two months after.
SoTE must be on its sixth roll over month by now. :?

Just a little patience! Tragic Europe has been printed, and is now in our warehouse. You really do not have long to wait!

Finally, SoTE is released.Huzzah! Of course, for some reason it doesn't appear to be on any release schedules for any of the FLGS that I use. Boo!
Looks like another week or two of waiting then. :(
Any chance of a quick preview? The news of the books release says that there is a preview available, but there doesn't appear to be one. :?

That would appear to be a no then, as far as the preview is concerned. Still no sign of SoTE at FLGS yet. Good thing that I am not holding my breath for this one, eh?
While I am also really looking forward to Castle Brass, I fear my previous post hoping for an end of May release for it is somewhat optimistic. I shall maybe start to see if its been released round about Xmas.
Now that your printing process is back in order, is there any chance that you guys can start providing us,your customers, with realistic expectations?

Secrets of TE is out and seems to be good, COOL! I'm looking forward to read it!!! :D

But Castle Brass is now announced in June...

I'm very thankfull to Mongoose to have been editing again such incredibles settings as Hawkmoon and Elric but I'm a bit (a HUGE bit) disappointed by the schedule management... It's a complete mess and not reliable at all! :(

What about letting down this kind of "precise but false" schedule announcement?

Should be the last adjustment this year, and we may just surprise you and bring Castle Brass out early - basically, the dates now listed are the very latest you can expect them. Castle Brass, for example, is mostly done, and just needs a few bits and pieces added.
