Campaign Question - Allied Fleets

Raiders are allowed the Battle point of allies. For campaigns, can I scrap ships to procure a better ship? If so, when would I be able to do that?

(i.e. Scrap a Bimith Defender to acquire two Xixx torpedo saucers.)

No.
If you manage to capture an enemy ship you can sell it for RR as per the rules in the book, but you can't sell your own ships back!

So I'm stuck with it until I ram it down my opponent's throat and force him to destroy it? I'm not thinking about scrapping a ship with the Raider RR benefit, just scrapping it to no gain except the slot for a different ship.

Is the Bimith a "purchased" ally or an "other duties" aquired ally? Because I'm pretty sure that "aquired" ships don't use up fleet points from your 10-pt Battle.

I guess that'd be OK! Don't see how anyone could argue against that.
And yeah that Clinto said is true too.

The Bimith would be a purchased ally. I had never even thought of how to work in the Other Duties bonus ships...

Semi-related: I really never questioned it before but can you purchase ships over the 10 Battle points if that was what the campaign was set at? i.e. You won the first battle without a loss, can you then purchase that shiny new Command Omega to add to your fleet?

I always assumed you could, that the 10 Battle points were the starting point of the fleet, but I can't say I've seen any ruling one way or the other. Maybe it's just so basic that everyone intuitively understands that you can go over.
