Brit Inf. anti-tank ability...

To return to the matter of anti-tank for the EFEF; the Swedish army have special anti-tank groups of 3-4 men armed with a singe heavy anti-tank weapon, if memory serves, and as Sweden is part of Europe, there you have your anti-tank! Then again, I guess most other european armies have some such.

Not to sure about the Brits on that point though.

3-4 men for one weapon??? what the heck is it?
Or are you saying 3-4 guys each have one?

Presumably Carl Gustav's or similar.

I dont think there's any modern army taking to the field past Korea that havent been equipped with disposable anti tank weapons of some form.

No, one gun. Some very heavy stuff though.

My dad did his conscription as a gunner in one of those teams.

Team leader
Gunner
Assist. Gunner/Loader/Ammo carrier

These are specialized team , in the French army , each squad (12 men) have 4 AT-4 (one shot antitank rocket launcher) in his standard combat payload. We also have antitank rifle grenade but they are only usefull against light vehicle. The tank-hunter squad have the same organisation , I think , than in Sweden , and they are equiped with the MILAN.
Soon we will get the new ERYX who have roughly the same performance than the AT-4 (but it can be reloaded).

well last time i was in the feild the TD's were being used by the brits ? bit smaller than a riffle no limit to its range bar the operator and eyeball and can kill a challenger if it wasnt for the fact it would be a blue on blue ! and that was over 8 years ago !!!!! nd at the time they were developing a AA version, so i think the modern brit force could bring anything down with a basic squad and the od support weapon, we dont see them in iraq at the mo as there are no meaty targets that warrant their use.

the british are part of the Euro task force, we just live on an island and tend to do our own thing niw and again. the standard APC used by the present euro force is often supplied by russia, as their part in the euro effort, as they have so many spare ones to hand out.

im looking forward to seeing some of the french and german bits to come out, should be interesting.

The Swedish army have those specialised teams yes, but each infantry squad can be equiped with anti-tank weapons as well. Not to sure about which weapon or which number but still.

Why not just get some plastic tubing that looks in scale and stick it on the back of one of the figures painting green and say he is the AT gunner and the weapon is in the stowed position. You could even put a strip of paper on the tube as a carrying strap.
