As diligent readers of the Paranoia Development Blog may have noticed, Brave New Complex has been announced on part of the Traitor Recycling Studio. This is a PARANOIA book that (as I understand it) will be published by the TRS through the Flaming Cobra imprints line.
Brave New Complex is a 128-page supplement with a few incredibly awesome features. It contains a campaign (!) for your players, as well as alternate settings for Alpha Complex, ranging from a fantasy adaptation of Paranoia* to a setting where the First Church of Christ-Computer Programmer has triumphed, and the Computer is worshipped as a god.
The setting of the book I helped work on is called "Redshirts." Players take on the roles of ensigns on a warpship of the Stellar Patrol, trying to survive the vagaries and whims of a capricious, gung-ho commanding officer, by pushing each other out in front of the oncoming alien attacks.
Brave New Complex - coming soon to an Alpha Complex near you!**
*Note: this is NOT, NOT, NOT a parody a la "Orcbusters", but a transplantation of the themes of Paranoia into a fantasy setting. Think of it like the "Popular fantasy RPG set in Paranoia" blurb in the beginning of the Paranoia core rules.
**Note: HPD&MC does not countenance the existence of other Alpha Complexes. If you have reason to believe that another Alpha Complex exists, please contact your local confession booth immediately. Have a Nice Day, Citizen!
