Brand new

My advice would be to stay in the Trojan Reach. Loads of published adventures + the whole Drinax campaign if you want. My advice, if your players have a ship, would be to start with Flat Lined (Rift Adventure 3), followed by Death Station, and then if you can get them to Argona, Borderland Run (Reach Adventure 6)!
Is flat line updated for 2022 rules?

When displaying the maps to the players, tabletop or VTT as a GM we often have to hide the indicator/number on numbered locations to prevent players from meta gaming and only visiting spaces that have numbers.

For a PDF it would be double the number of maps, with a Players Version and a GM Version. Most VTT products do that already.
Heard, I've told the layout team :)

I want to reinforce that how you run your game is all yours. As you can tell, we grogs are chock full of opinions and preferences, but that's ALL they are... opinions and preferences.
I personally believe you can have rip-roaring campaign full of gunfights, hijackings, and other daring-do in Core Subsector right next to Capital itself. Others think that you have to go to the borders for that. Still others prefer to go to the edge of the map of the OTU [Official Traveller Universe]. And we can argue our strong points until Sol itself finally blinks out. But at the end of the day [pun intended] each one of us, you included, will run your campaign the way that best suits the story we're trying to tell with our players.
And that is how it ought to be.

Also, something I wish somebody had told me when I started playing way back a million years ago when rocks were soft... make up two or three alien races that are native to your sandbox. My advice is to make one of them fairly primitive [pre-industrial tech] and at least one that is an active participant in galactic affairs. See to it that one of the species is a playable race in case one of your players wants to go that route. And remember that Humaniti is hugely diverse with all kinds of cultural influences. Every culture of Terra made it out into space at some point, so you have the span of known cultures to pick from.

And the most important thing: HAVE FUN. Refereeing is work, but it should be fun work.
