Blood of Orlanth

Well, I had money burning in my pocket on Pay Day and I bought Blood of Orlanth.

You going to do a review at some point?

Be warned - he docks heavily for dark unhelpful maps. Jrustela is a case in point. I thought it was fantastic and is one of my favorites so far, Simon took like 10 points off - very harsh I thought.

Maps have not been a strongpoint so far - and the cartographers don't really seem at fault. Too small and too dark and not matched with the text seem endemic to the line.

My *only* complaint is a production thing -- the maps are very dark. I doubt they're going to photocopy, and I'd like to be able to give them as handouts to my players. I wonder if Mongoose could be persuaded to give us PDFs or JPGs of them?
Good idea. You should PM Matt and tell him.

I did, and he says they'll be on the site in a few days!
I don't have the book yet, but if we can have clearer maps to download, all the better.

Sorry, but I cannot bear not to add my two pennyworth. Maps are a weakness: where they exist they are often good in detail, sometimes weak, but they are almost invariably too small and often, as Rurik states, remote from the text they refer to. I have mentioned (perhaps too often) that an atlas and an associated gazeteer would be of immense value to us GM's. Could this be an opportunity for Mongoose to use the low volume requirement of their own printing facilities to produce the volume which I for one desire.

It should have been 20.

I honestly didn't have a problem with the maps in Blood of Orlanth, except perhaps that I couldn't quite place the first scenario as there wasn't a map showing where the river was. But, I didn't think much about that, really. Perhaps I should look again.

I like plain pen-and-ink style maps (black on a white background) or full-colour rendered maps. I prefer black on white drawn maps rather than highly intricate shaded and confusing maps.

I haven't seen that many in Mongoose products, to tell the truth.

If I'd had time, I could have written a campaign book twice the size; but at almost 200 pages, its probably big enough already.

I vote Mongoose commission Loz to write "Dara Happa Stirs again!" to make use of all these extra ideas ...

Or Dara Happa 'storm in a tea cup'?

A bit tenuous...

Have the maps been uploaded? I can't seem to find them if they have?
Must say, this is one of the best adventures i've ever read through, with so much information and to take in. The RuneQuest books overall have been amazingly well done. Kudos to the whole team!

It doesn't seem so. We should ask again
