Biggest waste of points ever.......

We played a mini campaign this week, on thursday, four of my lot played a two on two MI vs MI game to represent a 'simulation'. The force that did best earned a captain for that player in our big game on saturday.
Saturday: colony level 4000 bugs with queen vs 4000 points of MI with fully equipped captain (150 worth of traits).

First turn: infiltrator bug attacked and killed an LT lurking at the back, the captain was in a bunker so I couldn't reach him.
Nearby MI opened up on the infiltrator, failed to kill it but managed to catch the captain in the firezone. He was allocated a single morita hit, which got him. But he was in a bunker, so his save was 2+............

You can see where it goes from here :)

There were almost tears.

The usuall... :D

Just another proof not to put too much trust into 2+ saves ;)
And why indeed bugs wanted to field the queen????

where i can find these queen's rules and fig?

The rules are in the Archnid army book, but the model has not been released yet. I'm sure you could use an Overseer bug as a proxy, or make a conversion with a combination of the Overseer bug and a plasma bug.

CAP's can give AFAIR their oficers in exo or marauder

It's true. The Captain can have the same options as the Lt., and if you look under the PA Lt., he can be upgraded to either exo or marauder armor.

shoulda been a pathfinder, make it re-rollable. Then you are officially allowed to be pissed off over him dying.

Wierd really, it specifically states that you need a platoon of the correct type to field a marauder or exo captain, then it directly contradicts it by allowing an upgrade anyway.

And the 750pt queen WASN'T a waste?

nope, the army was three units of 15 workers + brain, two units of 15 workers + 5 control bugs, 15 workers + queen and two units of five hoppers + burrower bug. Oh, and the infiltrators.
So, basically, the army moved forward at 5" an action so the other side couldn't tell what was a tanker (none actually). Then in turn three suddenly raced forward 18" as four units gained an extra action, the MI were on top of my camo entrances as they hadn't been expecting the sudden surge of coordinate movement.
Control bugs managed to take out four pathfinder k9's so I gained some dogs too :)
The underground hoppers were the big shock, I left them on the centre line as emergency back up. Other side brought in a unit of exos (three grizzlies plus 2 NCOs and LT all tooled up with traits etc... they opened up with everything and killed seven underground warriors, the hoppers then moved up to the marker and surfaced in my turn, then readied and used coordinate to fly out attack and get back to safety, left the firestorm grizzlies alone and out of command for the warriors to pick off later.
Brains and queen never used a talent at all (other than assasinate) but they won the game for me...... coordinate is massively useful, but four times a turn it's a game breaker :)

i alwayus thought the bigest waist of points was to upgrade a normal cap trooper to a maruader suit instead of a serg or corpy.........

sure, but he's also negating the 12" of the squad, and he's a nice, big target to the boot.plus, if you go with the M9, he ca't jum/shoot, so at most times he'll limit the squad's firepower instead of increasing it.
