Beyond the Abyss - Groups and Fleet listings

Well even in my moment of defeat I would like to thank the orginizers (huzzah to Triggy and Katadder) and all of my worthy opponents (go group 2!)! It has been a terrific experience and has gotten me hooked on Vassal. Now I want to try and get a US tournement going so I don't have to figure out how to play games around an 8 hour time difference...

20 quatloos on the Abbai and ISA to sweep the Semis!

Thanks All!

Rooting for your group over your fellow countryment Humbaba? Tsk Tsk.

It is a shame that I was the only Yank in my group - the time difference really does complicate setting up games - maybe sometime we can get a big vassal teams tourney going with regional teams. We could split England up in two or such - heck maybe even have a US west and east if we could get enough players - then we could battle it out for regional honors (the B5 ACTA World Cup so to speak)!

Good luck to all the players - I hope sometime to meet the members of the other group on Vassal.

well the group stage is over, the semi finals are :

Davesaint versus Itkovian
Czuschlag versus Romu

good luck to you all, you have until 11 Aug to play these games. if they are done earlier we can get into the finals earlier.

also waiting on a few of the most sporting votes, get them into me by PM please.

Congrates to the semi-finalists.
My apologies to Tneva and Czuchlag for not getting our games done.
I would support a change to timezone based competitions in future.
Thanks to Triggy, Katadder and the players.
A great success. :D

I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone as well on so many great (and entertaining) games, with particular thanks to katadder and congratulations to the four semi-finalists! As far as I can tell, it's been a huge success so far and the format has worked as well as could be expected for an event on this scale.

Time-zone related groups will be possible if there is an even-enough split of players. Next time there may even be a larger pool of players (hopefully get the numbers up to 16 or more) thus giving us more options and ability to break players up into groups :)

Don't forget to let us know when the final is so that we can watch :)

For those who are Interested Davesaint and I will be playing our match at 13:00 GMT Sunday 5th

Drakh vs Abbai

That's slightly annoying as I'll be in the mountains of the Lake District that day!

Best of luck - you also get to use your shiny new Battle PL ships too :)

Battle report - I beat Itkovian today. The dice really turned against Itkovian after he had to reboot. He conceeded when all he had left was a crippled Whitestar, a Parked WS and 3 Blue stars against my 2 urikhals, 3 Warbirds, Hurr Gunship and my crippled Vaarl.

so thats davesaint through to the final then. relying on Romu to stop that gaming group getting a clean sweep :D

still waiting on operative and emperor penguins sportsmanship votes too.

Operative doesn't seem to be online very often, might have to contact him by pm to get his attention.

The other semi is about to start if anyone is interested.

I´m trying to join in spectator mode, but somehow I´m not getting in :(

EDIT: Ah, now I can spectate - a small questiion though: Can games be only spectated as a text, or can I take a look at the map also?
