Babylon 5 - Wacky Races (Coming soon to Aldershot)

Personally Im in favour of a War level Race to start off just to see how it goes and so I can use one of my Warlocks!!!

I'd be wary of playing with War level ships, there are many that are Lumbering (and you know someone will bring a Bin'Tak in that Dick Dastardly kind of way).

As to the course, how about a gated section (much like a canoe time trial) where you have to slalom your way through a course (maybe in a dense asteroid field) taking gates in a particular order. Lots of scope for crazy manoeuvres and desperately trying to Come About!

Or race with a black hole in the centre of the table, and each ship drifts toward the centre as a compulsory movement.

Do a relay marathon. You pick one Patrol, Skirmish, Raid, Battle, and War ship each.

The field has some stellar obstacles.

The Patrol ships start at one edge of the board and must race against each other to get off the other side, where they get to come on with their next Priority Level up ship to go back the other way in order to go off the other side, etc. The winner is the one that gets his War level ship off the edge he is supposed to.

The trick is that the ships can totally shoot at one another like normal, and if someone's ship is destroyed they get the same ship (undamaged) at that ship's starting point.

I think I'm going to try this...go Tank and Hash!!!

Instead of targeting the opponents - you could put down some stationary targets like modified/disabled Space Liners. You can't directly target your opponent but you can time the attack on the Liners to cause explosions.

It sounds like great fun :) I enjoyed the SG episode and actually most of the Voyager episode (not often something I can say). the sentient ship was pretty cool - stupid Paris.

Damn... I feel like watching that ep now but my season 6 of Stargate is the only one of my box sets currently on loan to a friend :P

EDIT: This however will not be a problem as it seems I was mistaken, it is, in fact a season 7 episode :P

Thanks for the ideas so far guys, when me and Hash have had the opportunity to get together and write something up we'll keep you all informed

I think we've got the "everyone gank the whitestar" thing sorted but will need a playtest...coming soon. Ok Tank, you win, you brought me back to the forums...I only stopped off the game shop to pick up my copy of kodt, doh!
...
...
I don't care what you say though, shadow pinning SMB! ;)

EDIT: I didn't see the SG episode but sounds cool. Was thinking more the pilot training exercises in the old PC X-wing and Tie fighter games...but with more stuff :)

Hey Hash! - good to see you back :)

recomend that SG episode it s a good Sam Carter one :) Even the Voyager one is reasonably watchable.............

have fun :)
