Babylon 5 small unit skirmish for boarding parties

I'd like to see a quick and dirty ruleset for 28/30mm figures using Mongooses own B5 Figures (and thus expanding the range) to do boarding parties.

This past weekend I played B5:ACTA with my group and they are used BFG and WH:40K. In B5:ACTA we had a boarding situation (stand down and prepare to be boarded) and nothing to emulate the boarding. Usually with BFG, when a Breaching Pod is used, we then play out the boarding with WH:40K.

I'd like to see the same thing for B5:ACTA. I know that WWE is coming, but that is small mini's (15mm). I like Mongooses 25mm B5 Minis (I own the Earth Force Officers and Narn) and would like to see more and be able to use them with rules designed for Man to Man combat for boardings.

If this has been asked for previously, sorry for the repeat Post.

I too would like to see this, I havent actually played ACTA yet, so I cant say whether I like it or not, but I have never been a fan of painting ships.
But 25-28mm miniatures, sure.

They could do this in a similar style to the WotC Star Wars miniature game with a stripped out version of the D20 mechanics so as to give some compatibility with the RPG which would be good.

Obviously not exactly like the Star Wars one, as that's not brutal enough for B5, and facings would be important.

But I'm sure it's doable. Though the GoMC1 and SST mechanics would work fine too.

Thanks for the Idea of modifying the Starwars Rules to match the RPG. At this time I do not play the RPG, but it would be cool if the systems were close enough to be compatible.

I just need to readup on B5 equipment to determine types of weapons, etc.

There would also need to be a conversion of Troop number in ACTA to how many troops that really is.

I can't see an Omega Command Cruiser having only 6 real Troopers on it. I would think the formula would be Troop # x 10 for the actual number.

While served in the US Navy on an Aircraft Carrier, they had a platoon of Marines stationed onboard (about 30). So I could see the Command Cruiser having 60. But even a Troop # x 5 would be an ok number.

Of course add ons to this product line would be small (15-30 page 5"x8.5") books on each factions military and weapons. These would be quick reference quides that would have Unit organization, weapons, armor, and troop stats and famous leaders/personalities that would lead boarding parties.

Hope this helps Mongoose. I think that a lot of the B5 Fans would think this is a worthy endevour.

Or something that can be published in S&P?

I thought this at first, but there is the potential for actual sales. But of course the PTB at Mongoose would actually make that determination.

It would definately fill up a lot of S&P space over a year or so, especially if the Faction information is included in S&P.
