Babylon 5 2nd Edition

I hope the pics of the ships and other assorted images from the show aren't as dark as in the last book!
:P

The pics are much clearer and lighter, not to mention smaller! The book is absolutely packed to the gunnels so I do not think they had room for big pictures. There are a lot of ship images and cg shots (nice ones too!)
In my humble opinion this is the best Mongoose book to date :D

I'm looking forward to the new book too. I really liked Mongoose Gar's Shadow and Vorlons book - I thought it flowed really well, so the new B5 rulebook should be good.

I hope so, I spend too much money in RPG and I am in a period where I must be careful with money, still I have preordered B52E, the screen and the Cold Equation

Atimson; I hope so as well, its the only way I can afford it at the moment without breaking the kid's piggy banks open! :) I want to support, but right now it's rough...

Although I think (and I'll say it again) that I have been black listed for saying it.

Don't know if any one else has mentioned the previews, but they look really good (previews link here).

The influence rules look interesting, as does the change around of how the DV is calculated. I think there's going to be a bit of a knowledge jump from d20 to OGL, but that's not neccesarily a bad thing if the game benefits. Plus, no more D&D books needed... :)

Still I do not want to sell my few D&D books, my girlfriend use them sometimes.

I like the look of the changes I have seen so far. I agree that the way that Mongoose have pulled the various Influences together into 1 consise rule looks good.

I play D&D as well so wont waste the money spent on those books. But will be easier to carry RPG books around- 1 less book to carry and hopefully will be easier to cross reference to B5 specific rules.

Cheers

are there going to be new versions of the sourcebooks?
Narn, Centauri, Earth Alliance, etc.?

I hope not, all our existing books are 'supposed' to be compatible.

I spotted a typo under the 2nd preview, 3rd page. Under races, the Minbari entry is a cut & paste of the Centauri line.
Not a big one mind you...but I spotted on first glance.
Then again, I don't blame them after 350+ pages of editing. Yikes!

Sharp eyes ghost, that problem made it into the book too.

ALthough I have heard back from MSprange, they are working on a fuller conversion guide, mayhap they'll pick it up when they make that.
