Babylon 5 2nd Edition

It's... Not that big. AEG's spycraft and SG-1 were both bigger and just a tad more expensive. That's alot of money for 300 pages. I'm sorry, I really want to support it and I want to get a copy - but dang that is a week's worth of gas for my car.

With any luck there'll be a pocket edition along later at a cheaper price.

Just so long as they don't need to run off an errataed second printing this time. My shelves couldn't stand it!

And I have SC 2.0 and SG-1 (2 copies) they are big, but B5 is shinier!

I wasn't debating anything about the game r the book other than the fact that it's bloody expensive folks, and nothing can adjust that in my mind.

$49.95 USD a mere bagatelle, one textbook for AutoCad class last year was $139.95!!

I am even going to preorder the book tomorrow (I never pre-order). :D

Sorry guys, I really want it, but at this point I need that money more for gas to get to and from my classes and not purchase a gaming book that is not as large as others I have bought, yet just as expensive...

Looks like I am out of this one.

I personally never judge a book by how much it weighs or how many pages. I love Mongooses ?Mongeese ?Mongoose's (whatever) full color and highgloss paper vs GW's largely Black and white lower grade paper plus GW's notorious tendency to have really crappy binding with at least as much cost if not more.

I did in fact preorder mine today, now begins the waiting (with baited bread, you know kind of chumming the water. Must become GM again, I swore I would never but I am being drawn in by the Jump Gate Vortex, aaaaaiiiiieeeee!!!!!!! :P :P

Since it's unlikely that I'm going to play this game anytime soon - and also since I am anything but an admirer of the d20 system - I'll give it a pass. I have my 1st edition book that I got from ebay, to use as a sourcebook. If I was to actually GM that game, I'd find a system that suits me better.

If you're refering to "Games Workshop", then you've obviously been out of the loop for some small amount of time.

As for art, Mongoose could do with hiring an artist (CGI or Pen), grabbing stuff at random off the internet isn't exactly professional (Brakiri unnamed fighter in the Core Rules, I'm looking at you!).

So what will be the system uses to generate character abilities ? 2d6+6 like in Starship Troopers, a point-based system like one of the dungeon master guide ?

Is it possible to have a list of the playable race and the core class which will be on the B52E core book ?

Does the technomage will be in ? I have the opportunity to buy the book with a good price but if the class has been redone in the core book, it would be useless for me to buy it.

Is the book will have prestige class ? can it be possible, if yes, to have a short list ?

is there will be conversion rules to go from 1st to 2nd edition ?

that's all for now B5 friends :D

Off the top of my head -
Races: Human, Minbari, Centauri, Narn, Abbai, Brakiri, Drazi, Pak'ma'rah.
Classes: Agent, Diplomat, Lurker, Officer, Scientist, Soldier, Telepath, Trader, Worker.

And yes, there are conversion rules for 1st ed->2nd ed. For most characters, they'll be simple enough - work out your new DV using Defence bonus instead of Reflex save, merge some skills (Hide & Move Silently combine into Stealth) and reallocate skill points, work out your Influence and you're done.
