B5 Starter Book

Is the B5 Starter Book (the one that focuses on the War of Retr.) based upon the old or revised edition of the rules? All internal refs seem to omit the word revised.

If it is based on the old rules set, will there be a newer one coming?

I don't have it, but I believe it's based on Revised. A key indicator would be the damage table. As I understand, the original release sued a 2d6 roll to see what a hit does, while revised moved to a single d6. This is the roll that determines if it's a bulkhead hit, a critical, or a normal hit.

Note that one odd difference is that the Starter Game seems to specify 1 inch between turns, while the regular game is 2 inches...

I've had a quick look through the Starter Set book. The rules are the same as the Revised Edition boxset book.

Actually they are a stipped down set based on Revised rules, with the odd glaring difference.
