Awful B5 Models

Most of the models look great. However, there are a few stinkers in the mix. I got an Earth Alliance box just recently and it seems like the Nova is larger than it should be. Is it supposed to be in scale with the Omega (and therefore larger) or is the model just bigger than it should be? Now, don't get me wrong - the Nova is a nice looking model!

I was stunned by how big the Nova model is too! Supposedly the ship is shorter than an Omega

Scale was weak in the show and weaker still in this game. The whole game could use a scale retooling, but it all works, I guess.

I've got two Omega's teh normal one and the command one and they both look like they have been trodden on. Awful work.

I also have 2 G'Quans. I of which I havent even botehred to take out of the box the first one was just so badly made. None of the parts fitted without modeling work.

Considering the rather steep price for them, I expected much more.

My G'Quan went together ok i think?.
Have to ask E.P about it he built it and painted it for me, in my paint scheme though, black with grey strips and white outline on the stripes.
Looks amazing.

either some people are really unlucky, they are blowing things out of proportion or im really lucky, as the worst ive had was a small hole in an omega i got, but i patched it up with some modelling clay, even i cant see where it was now and im not a very good modeller.

The standards of miniatures has increased immensely of late. Gotta give credit to GW and Rackham. Mongoose isn't in that category. Hopefully they will too. I've been gaming and building long enough that I've been disappointed but not thwarted in any Mongoose model - and I have a bunch.

The large size doesn't bother me mostly - the Omega and Nova are two EA ships that I simply adore in large scale and look just ok in say, FA scale. On the other hand, the Olympus is a little on the bulky side...good to know Mongoose are dealing with it.

The models seem to be really hit or miss. I've had two horrible Tinashis, but had another one that didn't even need filing or trimming outside of the sprue (and I think drilling the hole better, but I don't count that). Some are good, but I've had to spend six hours assembling a Posiedon too, so it all depends.

The Nova according to the fluff is supposed to be only SLIGHTLY shorter than the Omega. Also bear in mind the models were originally created for B5Wars and in that game the Nova wasnt '2 per Omega' it was in fact more expensive and horrifically overgunned :P

On both my Omegas the entire front end is squashed inwards.

It looks like its just rammed something, it has been suggested I use them as the Churchill and the Rowen Oak....

And Animus didnt you previoulsy say "The Omegas are atrocious. One of the coolest ships in the series is now one of the worst models in the game.

FIX THE OMEGA!" in an old post?

Yes they were, come to think of it. I haven't built them yet so I forgot their condition. Hid them in a box for a while, out of sight and all. I'm sure I'll make due, but yes, they sucked -misaligned and squished - lots of work there.

I've built so far the entire Narn, Centauri, Shadow and Minbari Fleets without problem. Mongoose is hit or miss as someone said.
