Mini-spinals don't have enough detail in my view. Small ships are going to mount 30CM or whatever spinals to fit their size and energy. Not everyone gets a wave motion gun in the bow. Death to Desslok!!!
As far as the torpedo bay, if it's a launcher it's only got one round in the tube at a time. This is where your autoloading mechanisms are going to come into play, with the gunner selecting the appropriate round to fire, and then the system pulling it from the magazine to fire. What you are describing is more like a VLS system, with every round ready to fire.
This is a perfect example of where a
Jane's style book for Traveller comes into play. Describing in-depth weapon systems or whatever. I know GK is looking to do something like this, and DGP did it with the excellent Starship Operator's Manual. With the cost of publication virtually nil in the electronic world I'm very surprised someone hasn't done something like this. Maybe the TAS will encourage someone to do so.
