Are you pleased with the MRQ line?

After all the hot discussions that appeared at the beginning of MRQ, I'd like to know what you think of the line. This isn't a poll about the rules because I know most of the Gloranthan fans aren't really satisfied with them but about the content of the books.

I, for instance, buy the Glorantha books and I am really pleased with the last releases even if they're are fewer that before. Illustrations are becoming in tune with the world and the texts really catch the ambiance of the game. May be the maps need some improvements and we can always talk about soft/hard cover or full color/BW contents but on the whole I really feel a kind of creativity renewal for the (Gloranthan) MRQ line. I hope it stays in this direction.

Pretty unanimous thus far. Personally, I don't need fancy pictures so long as the rules are solid. I can live with functional maps, if they can't be pretty.

Initially it was some good things and some bad things.
As the line has gone on though, its become better and better. Excellent authors in most cases, tons of nice options and material.

When Empires comes out, I may well settle for MRQ as my default fantasy game over RQ3

D100 is my game of choice for almost every setting. I use a mix of BRP, RQ3 and MRQ.
Even when i don´t use MRQ as it is written and published, but use only bits and pieces to my BRP/RQ3 games i am satisfied with MRQ as a whole.

For Glorantha i use HeroQuest RPG (the only exception from playing d100). But the MRQ Glorantha books get better and better, and are rules light most of the time, so i am very satisfied with them also.

YES, MRQ books are good thing.

Since I buy them as fast as I can spare a few coins, I guess that means Im happy. I could and at times will point out at things I dont like or wish they would do , but I am very happy with over 90% of their product line.

I had my problems with the armour penalty system, combat actions (dex being so über), but houserouling playing and getting legendary heroes, gm guide and spellbook have made me more content with the look of their products...
Now one thing mongoose has to get better looking Illustrators for their covers!! thats a number one priority! if, for example can get the guys how did the illustrations for this rpg: then their products will look good, very good!!

MRQ is my roleplaying game. You made the background material intresting and the rules playable.

What i miss is:
-more concept pictures of people, buildings and military.
-Some graphical summary of wheres and whens of the major powers

The best is:
-That you play close to not only your friends, but also close to you god and ancestors...epic!
-The game system, its just so nice.

One thing Mongoose has done, possibly even better than Chaosium or Issaries and definitely a million times better than Avalon Hill, is to bring Glorantha to life.

My first MRQ book was Magic of Glorantha, just out of nostalgia to be honest and DAMN! I was hooked. Not just scenario packs, not just funky powers and crazy monsters, but a living breathing world.

Good work Mongoose, well done. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.

Like most others I have my quibbles, but the fact that I'm GMing after %&^£ty years means that the basis of the Glorantha I love is there at the core and it is also being expanded. Pity my pension only stretches so far!

I'm relatively new to Runequest and Glorantha, but have quickly developed a library of MRQ books. They're a great read, and I'm looking forward to getting the chance to play them sometime soon.
