Are those prices true?

Getting players interested is impossible. I.
I have gotten several players interested by holding games at a hobby shop in the area. They are younger gamers and they may not know what B5 is as they are not old enough to remember or have ever seen an episode of the series, but they like space games. After seeing the game and getting to play in a few games they are ready to commit. Sometimes it makes you feel like a game pusher. Give em a few games and they are hooked.

I'm interest how much they are interested when they hear that one ship costs 18 or even 60$. We have a very dedicated MI here but he can't do anything about the prices which stop many interested player from ever entering the game.

The cost is something that is a concern to the new guys in the group. They like the game and as it is as expensive as most other miniature games they know going in that a fleet is going to run them $100 to $150. Some buy the fleet box and some are doing it an a ship basis as their money situation allows. We have a couple of guys that use the counters to decide which fleet is going to be right with them. At that point they will probably buy the models. After playing a few games with the models it just isn't the same to go back and use counters.

We already had half our folks playing with counters. Some were looking at picking up models but won't now. That's okay in some cases, as we have all the fleets between us (I personally am only missing ISA and Centauri). But it's just sad to see the interest dry up...especially when it's not even the flat price that is stopping folks but a perception of the companies treatment of its customers.

*shrugs* Increasing the price to help reflect the weakening dollar doesn't bug me, as long as when the dollar becomes stronger again those prices go down as well accordingly.

Ya, that'll happen.
