Are book 11 Pirate and book 12 Alien still going to come out?

Mongoose
They where both announced years ago at this point and have been pushed back and eventually removed from the "upcoming releases" callender, my question is are there still plans to bring them back or are they being scrapped for a full restart on the books series with the release of traveller 2nd edition?

I am sure I read they were not going to release any more 1st edition books.

I would love it if they could publish the Alien book I wrote for them.

The book you wrote, was it for 2e or 1e?

I admit now you have me curious about it.

I think it was less than a month after I sent it in that Matthew asked me to join the 2e playtest, which news came right out of the blue - so it was for 1e, but it can be retooled so quickly to 2e.

It looked at the physical forms of the aliens, the arrangements of their senses, tweaks to characteristics, attributes such as high metabolism or low gravity homeworld of origin, and things such as root ancestral behavioural atavisms based on whether the sentients derived from omnivores, carnivores, herbivores ... or exotic entities such as sentient symbiotes.

Lots of tables, but it was all structured like High Guard is structured. Save points at every stage, so you could design a race of "high gravity bipedal omnivores adapted from a desert terrain" and not have to go into details such as how many genders they have, whether they have two or five eyes on their heads and so on - not until those details were needed.

And I gave example alien races.

It would be good if the aliens book was released. A pity it never made it, but you never know, it might be released as a 2E product, or you could ask Matt if you could self publish it on a web page or something...

I'm guessing that this is where TAS may well start to come in handy.

Now I really need to find a decent free software that allows me to use the .INDD files, to generate an ebook with the basic 2e Traveller template supplied through TAS.

Unless I can get something like a background that looks like small hex graph paper that I can use instead.
