IIRC, Vincent did not write those books, so your criticism of him on those may be misplaced.

From what I remember, Vincent was involved in the two books and wrote much of the additionnal text, but maybe I'm wrong.

Could be, but there's no author credit for him on those books on this site.

Vincent's contibutions to the Conan line have been excellent. I don't think your poll has to be mutually exclusive, however. There's no reason Vincent and other authors can't write books simultanteously, or that sections can't be divided amongst Vincent and other authors. If this were done however, I would put Vincent on as the lead - his passion for the material and knowledge of the setting is extensive.

I did'nt vote because I agree with Azgulor. Even if Vincent Darlage's work is really good, the problem I see with him as the unique author is the fact that he doesn't write enough scenarios. Only one of the regional sourcebooks (Across the Thunder River) included an adventure. He wrote also another in the Shadizar boxed set. Don't forget that this is a major issue to keep a RPG line alive. Every GM has not the time or doesn't want to create his own adventures.

I don't generally buy adventures, the one I do tend to buy are usually 1-4th levels. Those are the levels I have the toughest time with. Other than that, I prefer to run in a freeform style, that builds on character action and choices rather than shoehorn pc's into pre-generated ones.

Also, pre-generated adventures are not what sells a game line. It's have good support modules detailing the world or giving more crunch to the line. It's just one reason why D&D does relatively little scenario products.

Axerules,

Just so your aware, Vincent and I have written MANY adventures and submitted, but they seemed to be low on Mongoose's publishing list.

Trust me, many cool and long adventures but I have no idea, nor does Vincent, when or if they will publish them.

Hello Mr Rod. It is a a strange editoring policy. Even authors don't know what happens with their submissions. Though I wasn't convinced by the Shadizar adventure, I really liked the one in ATR. And I also liked some written by other authors: Tales of the Black Kingdoms, Heretics of Tarantia, Staff of Ibis....
