Maybe they tried to make one that would fit into the rules?
The original Gazelle was such an old design (in terms of the history of Traveller) that is was illegal but got grandfathered (but not Grandfathered) in.

Well, technically, it's a Fiery, not a Gazelle.

No drop tanks, etc. In fact, if anything, it looks more like Type T, with regards to specs.

That said, is pretty easy to give it 2 triple laser turrets and a pair of particle accelerators.

Without High Guard, is kinda hard to evaluate it need to see the extended rules first. Maybe then we can build the 20 ton Gig.

The Gazelle is a good example in later editions of a ship with armament limited by engineering controls instead of by fiat. I'm not a big fan of fiat hardpoint limits and never have been, so the idea that the Gazelle was "overgunned" never bothered me.
