Any chance of a pre releast playtest?

Subject says it all. I've already bought but I would be interested in getting an un-edited rules set post T/E and damage fixes. I know we're beyond playtests but I'd really like to not wait two months for the hardcopy to do *any* playing.

I'm not sure Mongoose are in a position to put out a "this is the version we're going to print" playtest file. If they did, no-one would buy the book when it comes out, 'cos everyone would have downloaded the final, *free* playtest file.

Kinda defeats the objective of publishing a book and making some money..... LOL

As a Hiver you should be able to "convince" Mongoose that it would be
the most brilliant and excellent of ideas to publish a free PDF version
of the final version ...

At least you could give it a try - please ?

Come to think of it, will this be an open license product? I can't recall one way or the other.

Either way, maybe an email with the almost finished playtest to people who have pre ordered? They have out email addys

I'm not party to Mongoose's release order but I strongly suspect the SRD will be available after the publication of the actual Traveller rules book, again to preserve sales. That's certainly the approach I would take were I in Mongoose Publishing's shoes.

However, this *is* Traveller we're talking about, so anything can happen out of the blue (and frequently does)

They will be releasing an SRD. I'm anxiously awaiting to see exactly which sections make it into the SRD, so I can begin working on my own stuff.

That would make things interesting. It would allow for quite a few backgrounds to be ported over that way.

At one point I ran a "Morrow Project" game using CT as the base rules.
