Well... I know there is already a post for this kind of thing, but I didn't want to hijack it and ask this. I have been trying to build this fleet for a while, thinking on and off about it... and I think I have it. It's a balance of cheese and not-cheese plus taking a light ship and heavy ships, using them to their greatest advantage.
1 FAP - Prefect
1 FAP - Magnus (Altarian varient)
2 FAP - 4 Vorchans
1 FAP - 3 Covrans
Fleet(1) - Prefect + Covran
Fleet(2) - Magnus + Covran
Fleet(3) - 4 Vorchans + Covran
F(1) sits back sniping light warships ships while F(2) outflanks the enemy's larger ships that can't maneuver away. F(3) is the brawler, going in to attract fire (something it does well with wide arcs and it's battle lasers and matter cannons) and defends against it well (something it can also do well with armour 6). It also assists F(1) and F(2) whenever possible. The Covrans for all fleets are initiative sinks, fighter support and of course increasing the effectiveness of the battle lasers and the Vorchans.
I think this takes advantage of the Vorchans (which only truely work if you have more than 2) as well as the Magnus... something infrequently used around here. The Prefect is usually called cheese, so I tried to balance it out with the Magnus and Vorchans.
Well, tell me what you think. Be nice...don't let the numner of posts fool you... I am new to this.
