True, but no need to add more 1-shot-victory conditions to the game.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one ;)

but I want the last word.....

and the word shall be

Urglebeep!!!!

SqueeeeeeeBoing is better

Ahhh young whippersnapper, untutored are you in the ways oh yee olde PC speaker. Back in the days before sound cards and external speakers back before Doom came along and enlightened gamers to the joys of stereo there was the Urglebeep!!!! and it was good....

Also it was my last word on the debate and I chose Urglebeep!!!! and Urglebeep!!!! it will be.

well going by the S&P article - the radius is reduced to 2". its a CQ10 however and you must have scouts on the board to carry it out. and must have advanced jump engines too.

personally i think if both fleets have ships in hyperspace you should have a seperate hyperspace board. then if you JPB someone you not doing anything else and the enemy ships can target you :)

Eh? What S&P article are you refering to? I must have missed that bit!

I agree with Katadder! me and reaver both had ships in hyperspace, and I was confident my Marathon could take his thentus and 2 sho'kars! alas, no, no fighting allowed!

Though a Hyperspace combat scenario would be pretty cool. Have all sorts of nasty effects for ships straying too far from gates or beacons and things like that. Ships that don't move drift randomly, that sorta thing.
Could make for interesting gaming

their are rules for hyperspace, something like everyone gets steaalth, and you can loose your beacon lock and loose ships and stuff. risky to say the least!

I should start reading these rules books that i hear so much about, shouldn't I?

Naaa that would take all the fun out of the game

I would like to see that it requires a certain level like war or battle to use JPB. That way if a person decides to use it then they have to weigh the pros and cons of not having that ship on the table for awhile. That and it just seems that JPB would only be on higher priority level ships and cetainly not patrol level. In my estimation a patrol level ship does just that patrol or scout not jump into hyperspace to use there JPB cause they are better than its main and secondary guns.

If a ship can open a JP it can open a JP... if it can open a JP it can JPB. Its a nice idea to stop smaller ships from JPBing, but it just doesn't make any sense outside of gaming.

doesnt ISA= cheese anyway as a whole fleet?
For me it's a flavour choice, not a tactical one, I'd be better off playing EA more than likely, more forgiving of tactical errors.

Sorry mate I completely disagree,

Reaverman, what are you disagreeing with?

You state your opinions about JP bombing being cheesy quite well, which seems to support Jetbaker. As for disagreeing with my reasons for playing ISA, I really don't see how anyone can disagree with my motivations other than me (or one of my many split personalities  )

Or he could be disagreeing with your comment on EA being more forgiving of tactical errors

Maybe, but the rest of the post made no mention of such. That's why I asked.

Sorry mate, I was making the point that 'Using JPB 'For Flavour', does not really cut it. To say well its used in the TV series, could be seen as a bit lame for regular games. It was used yes, but once.

God this thread has swelled since I last looked, and that was 2 am this morning

Ahh, fair enough Reaverman.

Let me make my position clearer as well.

I have always played ISA, since they only had 8 crew and Adaptive Armour did NOT half Crew loss. I play WS because i love WS, it's a flavour choice.

As for using AJP bombs, I do that on occassion because it's in the rules, if they change the rules to make it harder or remove it I'll stop, or at least reconsider depending on the strategic balance it gives me.
