The Air Supplement in S&P has a save value listed as x+/x+ and the speed chart lists dodge saves.

What values do we use?

Oh, and any update on the Air Power book or a German preview?

Yes, but which number? We have 2 in the profile, plus the one in the speed chart. Which is the dodge save and which is the armor?

The Players guide is always more recent!

Air - update: up to Matt.
German Vehicle Compendium: Done and in the final layout phase. I will tell immidiately more as soon as the Logo license is up.

Excellent - I want to go back to using my P-47. We quit using air power because the Germans only had one plane and it couldn't drop bombs.

My P-47's role in life is to kill Nebelwerfers.

Know where a fellow could get some in 1/72? Funny, my second list was two Grenadier squads to protect the nebelwerfers, 2 JagdPanthers to kill armor and 3 'werfers to wipe infantry off the map. A tidy 1500.

Am I the only one that makes a frillion lists and never plays half of them? :)

Just looked at the stats and see why you either like or hate them depending on what side of the gun barrels you are. Why would you want to take a one-shot heavy artillery bombardment when you can have a multi-use Nerf for almost the same cost? - definately broke.

Funny thing is that during playtest some testers where complaining that the Nebelwerfer is too weak...

You can't please everyone...

And BTW: Before saying the usual "IT IS BROKE!"; consider this:
The Nebelwefrer can be easily suppressed (small unit)
The Nebelwerfer can be killed/destroyed
The Nebelwerfer takes another support "slot"

Easily suppressed: It has a range longer than anything else, and as artillery it can be fired from a place it cannot be seen. NOT easy to suppress.

Killed/Destroyed: See above.

Takes a support slot: Well worth it. I would fill a list with 3 of them.

Broken.

If it required an observer, things would be ok - because you could kill the observer, or hide from him. As is, there is no reason not to take 3 of these and build your army around them.

You can also do the same to the command group spotters.
Honestly Agis, a one-shot heavy artillery shot the same as a multi-shot one for the same cost, really?
I would have no problem of using up a support slot, I've found snipers almost usless as they can't stay hidden and get mown down by return fire, AT guns get suppressed into submission, the German forces do not need a seperate Panzerscreck team as the infantry get plenty of panzerfausts, no point in taking a mortar and nebelwerfer. So that leaves MG, pioneers and nebelwerfer - sorted.

I probably wouldn't take any of them as it might not make for a fun game for either side :)

Nebelwerfers are super mortars, for 40 more points than a regular mortar they can kill their value in enemy troops very easily. So, I agree - no point in having werfers and mortars in the same list and no point in having heavy artillery when you can take a werfer and use it the entire game withoutneeding LoS.

So, nerf the werfer? Increase its cost? What would you think?

Why are we discussing the merits of the nebelwerfer in a thread marked up as aircraft :)

To start with I think that artillery is overpriced maybe even halved? Have not yet used it myself due to cost.
AND...
The Neb has multi barrels to load so could take a couple of extra ready actions to load - surely it must take a lot longer to load than an AT gun?
OR...
up its cost to say 150pts?

SHQ has some in white metal. Look under guns in the german section. IIRC they only have SS crew for it (in a separate pack). Unfortunately no pictures

Esci had a set of two in plastic, we can hope Italeri brings it back!
