What is everyone using for airplanes? We're going with 1/72 scale, and I found some by a company called Easy Model. All plastic, good selection, really gorgeous, ready out of the box - for around $10.00 US.

It's been Easy Model planes for me. How can you beat the price, compared to a similiar price for plastic kits that need to be assembled and painted.

1/48th scale model planes are easy to come by also and are fairly cheap the only problem is making a proper base

Thats what I use for my 28mm models For bases I made a wire tripod, this allows positioning of aircraft anywhere on the table as the 3 legs will straddle any obstacles like tanks or buildings.

I've made flying bases for 1/72 scale aircraft by using the bottom of a large GW flying base, but replacing the stalk with brass rod, and weighing down the base with modellign clay, which I then flock and paint.
