Aircraft scale in BF-evo (my thoughts !)

Well, I'll make this nice and plain and simple: Make the Osprey, I'll get it. Period. :D

How many Marines can fit in an Osprey? I'll buy as many as I need to transport all of my infantry.

As long as they don't do what that 'other' company does and sell all the really cool unique stuff direct only. When I want a super large special model I want to be able to order it through normal channels. Plus if everyone at the FLGS sees it there waiting they might get excited about it too!

Would it be viable to produce the limited run models to order, strictly mail order from Mongoose, once the original batch has been sold ?

Only if you would be prepared to pay £500 per unit :)

Wouldn't it be possible to do it in cheaper runs if you go for unpainted version for them? If they are plastic models then it's the moulds that should cost most so producing the models themselves shouldn't be prohibitibly expensive(actually logically it would make sense to keep selling them in one form or other to compensate for price of plastic moulds).

Then again what do I know about technical issues here

The V-22 is nice but they are HUGE. I have the Italeri 1/48th scale kit though as yet it is unbuilt and is likely to remain that way. It is big enough to count as terrain in its own right. We need helicopters but anything else is either terrain or off table. The best thing I can do with my SU-25 is probably to build it as a wreck.

Aircraft are inconveniently big, I remember my surprise when I first saw an Airfix Spitfire beside a Tiger I and still feel something of that surprise today (though admittedly the Airfix Tiger I is 1/76 or something rather than 1/72nd). The plane was so big and that was just a fighter.

i had that with fow

i got somw 1/100 scale russian aircraft, when they arrived i was hocked o the size of them compr to the tanks !!!!!!!!

i now use 1/144 scale aircraft and they look better by miles.

Hello? Has anyone been to an airshow? Stateside a common site is a flyby with a P-51D Mustang and an F-16C or F-15 variant in formation. The Mustang could be slung under the modern bird as payload! A modern MBT however is about as long (muzzle to taillight) as a WWII fighter.

I would think that aircraft would be more of a perk for dedicated folks than for common use on the table. Along the line there's got to be CH46/47s, Mi-6s, and/or Osprey like bird to deliver my Marines into an embassy somewhere.

I got to see a Blackhawk up close today. Good Lord, those things are big! The tail rotor alone is about 12 feet in diameter! I imagine a 1/65th scale model would have to be about 10" long with a 12" diameter main rotor.

this is what i was thinking, air power in helicopter and plane are huge, most people cant comprehend how big they actualy are.

then you add to the height the flight stand and perspective they look twice as big again.

now to shoot stuff down to 1/100 scale for aircraft would probably be ok, but many helis will fly low and land so maybe 1/72 would be more suitable.

i know mongoose is going to stick to their guns on this and i cant blame them, but i think for me personaly il get a few in MGP scale for tounies and then some of the scales i like for home games.

I'm not saying don't shrink them, I'm just saying if you are going to shrink them is 1/72 worth it? Wouldn't you want 1:100 or more?
