Aircraft scale in BF-evo (my thoughts !)

ok ive spoke about this befor, but apart from little birds, most modern assualt copters and aircraft are HUGE, and i do mean big, in BF-evo they went for 1:44 scale aircraft as it looks more aspheticaly correct, and for BF-evo i sugest something the same , maybe 1:72 or for exclusivity maybe 1:75, it would look better on the table and as its all about center points, would make a lot of diferance, ive just measured a Apachw in 1:64 scale compared to a 1:72 version, and their isnt a gret deal of differance from a distance on a table top, and the 1:72 one looks more correct.

just something i thought id like to throw out their.

bt the way a 1:65 apache is around 230mm long while a 1:72 one i is about 210 mm thats 2cm diferance less than 1" over a 1:65 scale 9" long chopper.

I saw the same one in new 1:72 scale, i must say i could get 3 on thoses on the battlefield then my big one..!!!

I may end up playing my own evo-s system in 28mm, and for bigger battles using the Standed Bf rules i go with 20mm, don`t tell anybody......

13" x 65 = 845 divide by 1/72 scale = 1173" or about 11 3/4" so only 1 1/4" out not bad considering !!! unless of course you mean your black hawk is say 1:48 scale then 13"x 48 = 624 divide by 1:72 = 8.7" approx nearly half the size.

i havnt got a ruler on me at mo or any idea what scale your black hawk was from your post.

But if the aircraft models are (hopefully) removable from their flight stands, having them in the matching scale to the rest of the models on the board allows you more options as far as missions go.

Airbase Ground Defense / Raven missions / Blackhawk Down / etc.

I know what you're saying Mr Evil, and the thought of someone inadvertantly knocking over my Supercobra because it's big, gets my 'syndrome' worked up to a near killing rage.
But I dont really want to sacrifice my options...

bah, one of the biggest selling points of this game, to me, aside from kickass game play is that the miniatures will be in scale. I don't want an out of scale aircraft because it "looks better" in relation to the groundpounders when flying. Personally, I think in scale would look better anyway.

grrrrrrrrrrrr i hate limited runs, it means i can never achieve a full compliment of what i want long term.

or i decide i need it once its no longer available ! how ill this effect tournaments if say a unit some one wishes to use but is no longer available could they use a modle kit stand in ? i know it probably wont effect me much but just a point of interest.

wont there be plausable second runs, amybe say unpainted ? as their be cheaper as by then the mould cost will be paid for.

well remind me at the open day, im working on somthing at the moment that may require you to up supply ! as your product has struck the interest of a chain or 2 and they have asked me to show some samples after the open day next week or sooner if i can.

A wise decision. This ultimately helps retailers as well. They aren't stuck stocking product with low turnover.

I'm sure if you would be willing to front the production cost, they'd be happy to accomodate a different resolution. :wink:

Would it be viable to produce the limited run models to order, strictly mail order from Mongoose, once the original batch has been sold ?
