Sadly I grew up in a D&D household, my father having been offered a job by the Great Gygax himself. (Though not accepted, new wife, little britneyfan on the way, and a house in the suburbs could not be supported by a D&D income.)

stuff the other books do bf evo, the rest are for for them silly namby pamby RPG'ers any way go let them play with foam swords while we play some proper games with evo rules. please. or get it to the printers now so we can have the book in 2 weeks time. darn use one of my old printing presses, your have the book in 3 days.

Namby pamby? Come over here and say that, if your movement allowance lets you. I'll get an attack of opportunity as you move into my threatened space, and I have the double-tap feat, so I can make my full attack as an attack of opportunity, so I get 3 attacks at +15 for..... (etc etc etc...)

Wargamers look down on Rolplayers.
Roleplayers look down on Wargamers
But everybody looks down on Gamers (and Mr. Evil)

I play both! And card games and video games and computer wargames and boardgames (no mindgames though! :) )

To counter it I drive a 'Mad Max' truck a sports coupe and collect firearms and swords and CDs/DVDs.

Oh, and there are funny smelling gamers in all veins but most especially the room full of Magic the Gathering guys. Apparently the cards melt if you get too close to any fluid other than Moutain Dew :?

The only thing worse is walking into a room full of gamers and realize its a Pokemon or Yugi-whatever tournament...

I shook my head, thanked Woden I was armed, and called for extract.

do you mind, i shall climb into my bottomless bag and hide their till next tuesday.
as for looking down on me !! is this the same G that wears that funny bobble hat with no bobble ? if so your shorter than me :D

Well no matter what form of gamer you are you can look down upon the pokemon crowd with pride and mutter 'there but for the grace of god....'

Though it always amususe me how much prejudice goes on between groups of grown men sitting round a table rolling dice pretending to be elves and groups of grown men sitting round a table rolling dice playing with toy soldiers and groups of grown men (ok this last one may be pushing the definition of 'grown') sitting round playing cards they paid $249 for a pack of 6 of......

:P

(For the record I play just about any form of game known to man. Except pokemonk, Yugio or any other rediculous Japanese monster battle card game clearly aimed at the under 5s :P)

Gamers are becoming more accepted as computer and video games take off.

Then, when those video games tie into board, role playing, card, and miniature games, it can bring new gamers into the fold.

We don't wants them precious!

Nothing wrong with bringing more gamers into the fold.
But I do recall Little Wars '02, playing Battleground WWII with my dad and a bunch of other folks I didn't know (save one who didn't know I had part of an investigation team looking at him regarding his inability to appropriately relate to members of the fairer sex).

At one point in the game I started looking around the table and tried to count the wedding bands.

I counted one. On my dad. Out of 8 or nine players.

A sad strange lonely group we be...

lol well we did the same, at pub out of all the people their the only 2 who were single out of a largish group of about 14 all the others who were not single had girlfriends living with them or moving in.

i think my game group is pretty cool, tonys GF send him over with a packed lunch, makes me smile every time, some times she makes me some sandwiches as well !!! and were in our 30's !!!!

Good God Man! Let me know if they break up!

I can't get mine to support anything gasming related, let alone participate anymore.

She did play 'Hackmaster' twice, and a LOTR clix kinda game once. Thats it. And NO FOOD TO BOOT!

Wow, this has truely gone way off topic here, I think we should either start talking about the rule book again or close this thread.

Now, that said, I have a question about the rulebook myself which was'nt answered in another rulebook thread of my own. Will the rulebook contain special unique rules(not in the game cards) for each of the four factions?

yeah, I heard something about a prone position that will give some sort of bonus to hit. But it will have to be a ready action. anyone care to elaborate?

Well is this rule regulated to a particular faction?

Sorry about the thread driftage....

As for prone position, wouldn't it make more sense to require a ready action to get up as opposed to getting down?

just my point-oh-two.

Well there exists a precedent of a Ready action to lie prone, extend bipod, etc in the SAW and Minimi gunners in the USMC and EFTF squads
