Ever since I heard about BF:E, I wasn't really comfortable about the scale. 28mm skirmish without tanks, OK. But when you start throwing in vehicles, it just looks off, like 40K. Tables are way too crowded, ranges seems waaay too short...
And then there's the price: a squad box will be in the shops for nearly 30€! Sorry, but count me out.
So I picked up a couple of boxes of Ceasar's (http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.asp?manu=CAE&code=H030 , http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.asp?manu=CAE&code=H031 ) and a Revell M1A2 for 29€. How to start a new game on a budget ;-)
And those figs are great, they really are worth their money (about double the price of Esci at 10€). No flash or mould lines, made out of a harder type of plastic, no real bendy weapons problem, great castings.
I'll have to colour code the stands of SAW gunners (because none are in the set) and grenadiers (bit small to see at this scale) but they're good to go otherwise.
I'm going to keep the rules as is, using smaller figs will give me that feel of open space that I'm missing with the BF:E figs.
And with the figs on the market I'll be able to fight in Chechnia, Afghanistan ( Brittania are doing a nice range of metal 20mm at the moment)...
