[ACTA:SF] The Mauler Cannon - Unofficial

I suggest you just make it a fixed set of damage make a Heavy Mauler (Sabertooth, D6M, KRM) and one Light Mauler for War Cruisers and the Falcon.

Secondly, can someone explain the "Boresight" rules for we non-ACTA players?

The Boresight Arc in 5 ACtA was a essentially linear fire arc (if you forgive the oxymoron) - straight forward, or straight aft. The target had to be lined up perfectly or it couldnt be fired - so the boresight ships always wanted to go later in the turn or their target would move. There was a special order in Powers and Principality that allowed you to fire a boresight weapon as if it had a standard arc against a nominated target but they were essentially big cannon in a straight line type units.

Strictly speaking those were two seperate arcs, Boresight, and Boresight (aft)

Yes, sorry I was just giving the various options for it (I don't remember a Starboard or Port Boresight in the game)

On a mauler ship implementation note - the biggest issue I can see is the Damage rating for ships of this type.
Most of these ships are giant flying Duracells, and running the Damage stat off the Hull is not going to work with so many boxes of battery - its obscene - I mean the D6M in SFB has 30+ Batteries as well as most of the D6 systems bar the disruptors, the Romulan Sparrowhawk nearly 25 and still has a plasma G in the thing - so they are more durable in many ways than their parent type with a lot more internal boxes.
The Romulan Falcon is more extreme mounting 36 batteries attached to the mauler, 4 hull boxes and a grand total of 2 phaser 3s on the refitted version and precious little else beyond the bare requirements - it really is a flying barrel and will take a lot more punishment than the Pelican which has 6 hull boxes in SFB and so would rate at 12 to the Falcons 8 Damage by the standard method. Equally we have seen the problems if you convert a lot of one box type to Damage points with the old civilian ships and their cargo.
