ACTA RIP....

I'm from good old blighty dude, and can confirm that i'm no racist!

well unless of course you are a vorlon!!!!! Just ordered some more stalkers for my shadow fleet (must get round to painting them!)

Yeah I am upset about the dropping of the minatures, but I also think that they shouldn't shut down the forum, since they technicly aren't ending game.......

hmmmmmm......... Centauri players whinning about G'vrahn............. then a mysterious stopping of production.......... I knew they were determined to stop Narn players using the ship but this is OVERKILL
In the Prime of the Republic a thousand servants would whine a thousand whines at the mere mention of a G'Vrahn!

I too am dubious about a mini line restart in the future. If a restart was truly in the future, why put them in what appears to be a fire sale? The discount on SST minis made sense as they were supposed to be replaced. Further, why stop the line completely? Why not relegate the line to direct mail order only, and cast to order with no packaging(i.e. no retail box)? I realize that there is an issue with cost per casting and there is an expense to casting 10 ships to sell 1, but keep the prices as is(dig into profit, but better little profit than no profit) or raise them. If extra minis stand around unsold too long, melt them down and cast a new piece. I am no expert so probably missed a lot of things.

I simply can't believe this. I just got back from playing a campaign game of ACTA and find the game has effectively been killed-off (and no I don't believe S&P will be enough to keep it alive without Minis).

Absolutely gobsmacked.

How can you do this to us Mongoose? :?:

I know how you feel. I was full of glorious visions for future ACtA gaming and then this. Ok, so the club is still there but I won't be able to sell anyone on ACtA and that will make it harder to make VaS look attractive. So I either buy into another game or go back to playing 40K, basically...

@ Lord David

Shane already has 2 G'brokens please don't bait him into getting more  8)

@ Grimbart_Kriegsaxt

Hippie ain't racist just a GINGER!

Sorry Andy but it had to be said.

As a side note, many people seem very down about playing ACTA at the moment. I hope people don't stop playing because of this it would be a shame to see such a great game disappear.
Also it would be a shame as i have just spent 2 months making scenery so that our club in the midlands (UK) could hold a tournement in the near future, (guess if it does go ahead now i probably won't be able to blag free stuff of Mongoose to use as prizes along side the trophies we already have planned, ah well...).

Keep me informed please...

Will do.

Our penciled in date is a saturday in early June.

Oh yes, forgot to say, We're in Walsall.

Well that is pretty sad news. Only been playing less then a year and i'm far away from my goal of owning every fleet :(

I'm sad but i can understand why they have to take this decision.

Thanks for the good times and your good work tho.

Just have to get my hands of those new models before they're unavailable now. (xonn, ipsha for exemple)

Gone for razor blades, the lot of 'em...

Well, don't I just love suprises. I said to Hiff that now he's got his mothership, time was at an end.

There's a distinct feeling of deja vu about this. AoG ceased B5 mini production in 2002, and went under shortly afterwards, but then Mongoose picked up the license.

And SFB mini production has been up and down like a whore's drawers since the early 1980's (currently up).

Personally, I'm not too fussed; I've got 200+ B5 minis and luckily have more or less everything I want, but it's a great shame for people just getting into the game.

I'm sure we'll see the models again - made by Mongoose, or someone else.

well I hope to be playing for some time to come! but will miss the new shiny stuff

We'll just have to make our own shiny new stuff.

Good point well made :D

- well I am updating my DR and have just submitted different (nromal)stuff to S+P - hopefully shiny stuff will continue - just not from MGP so much - though I have crossed fingers for a book................ :)

Oh yes....and I made more scratchbuild ships in the future, of course.

The Neroon,Drakh Mothership and many, many new ideas more....be sure.

And i hope this forum lives long enough, also.

I guess this means item number 8 in the "The 10 best things about ACTA" article in S&P isn't quite correct...

I'm sure this wasn't an easy decision for Mongoose. I haven't even gotten into 2nd edition ACTA due to various roadbumps in my life of late... As well, I was dissatisfied with the casting quality of the minis.

I hope that the next time someone makes a B5 tabletop game it hits on all cylinders.

I do think it might be nice to plan to have a cardstock counter pack that is updated semi-regularly as an alternative. Maybe just do it yearly, or when there's a major release, so there is always a product with current ship counters available?

There are quite a few of us in Fresno, California that play B5. We play at 2nd dimension comics in Old town clovis. If any one wants to play I have an EA fleet, a drakh fleet, some shadows, vorlons and a psi corp fleet, although psi corp and EA kinda go together. Between me and the others there we can field most any fleet.

Well guys, its been a great game but as of the 31st March Mongoose are no longer producing any B5 Miniatures....
That means that whatever is "out there" right now is pretty much the end of the line. Bummer.

OK, I am sick right now. SICK, SICK, SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just when I thought things were going foward with new rules, new fleets the rug gets pulled out from under us.

I just spent the last hour reading all of this and I am SICK!!!!!!!

And i have an other important question to Matt:

If Moongoose supports ACTA in the future with new rules-updates,supplements etc. or is ACTA dies out in the near future....completly ???

this happens when MGP don´t support it... this is the worst future... :(
